I guess AEW needs jobbers as well.

Layla & Mrs Taker teasing on Twitter that they might come back for the Women's Tag Team belts :)

Anything just to see Layla back on my TV screen.

I'm assuming they'll be in the Rumble first then

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,236 ✭✭✭✭J. Marston

Find it a bit funny how they treat the Diva days as the dark ages of women's wrestling (I suppose it was) and almost look at it with derision but still call on a lot of those women to fill numbers for the rumble.

Apparently The Revival asked for, and were denied, their release after Raw Monday.

Earlier in the thread I said it seemed likely that The Revival were pobably contracted until April 2020, Meltzer apparently confirmed this today.

Not a smart move by the Revival. No chance of them getting their release and they'll probably be made an example of.
Gonna be very interesting to see how this plays out.

Well at least they are still a tag team. Bit how long will it be before they split and get lost in the lower card obscurity

There's always lower when it comes to WWE.

They really don't do the overt burials in response to issues anymore. It's too clear and too public. Remember AJ had a go at Stephanie on Twitter about the women being paid less? She still got a Wrestlemania match, one of only four women in the company who did that year. Daniel Bryan refused to go to Saudi Arabia and was world champion a week later.

They do little with the Revival anyway but outright burying them would make them cult favourites with a solid chunk of their core audience. I'd imagine they'll be presented similarly if not better than they have been.

Vince cares so little about the product these days that he doesn't even bury people on air. Before, when the on-air product was the pits, at least the backstage stories and drama kept us entertained. Now, even the dirt sheets are boring.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,236 ✭✭✭✭J. Marston

People cared about AJ and Bryan though.

    The Revival, not so much.

The entire NXT fanbase is behind the Revival. That's why they won't be released, and that's why they won't be buried.

Is Sonjay even wrestling these days? I was a bit of a fan of his work back in the day

Have AJ and Abyss ever been together in TNA? Would be cool to see Styles start bringing in guys from TNA to help him win and start a new faction

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,382 ✭✭✭✭CastorTroy

Hope they sign Joseph Park as well.

But yeah Sonjay has been backstage and one of those guys that comes out to pull people apart.

Surprised with Abyss if he has signed. Maybe they just want to collect all TNA/Impact hall of Famers. Don't think they'll get Gail though

Gail Kim confirmed for the women's royal rumble match, with a self elimination?

Sonjay dutt was a deadly wrestler back a few years ago. Honestly thought he would be retired.

I wonder would Morris on go back. I could see him being an nxt champion. Couldnt ever see him winning a world title but usa/I. C on return. Fantastic performer. He was great in lucha underground. He had a great iron match against ricochet.

I'd say if WWE signed Taya as well, he would go. Seems they've got a good thing going with LU and other Mexican promotions as well as Impact. Though the health benefits are always a plus.
Looking at her wiki, it seems Taya was signed years ago, but I wonder if they offered anything recently.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 61,007 ✭✭✭✭Agent Coulson

Sonjay to work as a producer on 205 Live maybe have the occasional match would be my guess.

I don’t see what they would do with Abyss really.

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,952 ✭✭✭Monokne

Abyss & Dutt are being brought in to be part of Triple H's team for NXT. Neither will be performers.

Isn't RVD out of ever working with WWE again due to 'visual impairment from a concussion' and Christian on a don't touch list due to his concussion?

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,952 ✭✭✭Monokne

Both Christian and RVD are medically disqualified, that is correct.

yeah but Christian was asked on the podcast he does whether the clearing of Daniel Bryant which is why he was disqualified would change his mind.

    And what did he say?

    What's the story with RVD?

In the back and forth with his ex wife Sonya over a divorce settlement his disclosed one of the reasons he could not pay her as much alimony as she wanted is that he is medically disqualified from working for WWE owing to concussion related issues.

He didn't really say yes or no, but he did acknowledge that DB's change in status was interesting.

I usually think there is no such thing as bad publicity but that is cringey. Feels like he was a drink or two away from calling out Levesque at The Alamo.

Lesnar isn't fat despite losing a significant amount of muscle.
He's right about signing the likes of Breeze or Ryder tho.
