Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I imagine the talent will be happy with that choice in terms of proximity to home for a lot of them

Forgot that Deputy Dango actually beat Jericho at Wrestlemania. Fashion Police are very funny, one of the few acts that have genuine comedic talent in WWE.

But if he wants to be serious, I hope they don't do the "turn on former partner" thing with Breeze to start it. It's stale as hell these days and rarely works. But he is charismatic, has "the look" (which seems to mean good looking, tall-ish and abs) and that leg drop finisher looks awesome so you never know.

id actually prefer if he comes back and teams with breeze again but trys to be more serious but its breeze the one who turns on him

Just have him go on a singles winning streak and getting a shot at the US or IC title and just have breeze in a supporting role eventually leading to them parting on mutual respect due to his singles career.

Sick of seeing teams being broken up by one turning on the other

Agreed , although the break up of DIY was done extremely well. Overall its usually turn on them , have a few **** matches and move on

Off the top of my head Shane Douglas, Freddie Prinze Jr., Jericho & Fin Martin have said it publicly. I'm sure more have said it too. As you pointed out yourself it doesn't make sense but that is apparently how he feels.

    What a ragtag bunch!

    Jericho would know, I suspect.

    Curious.

Wrestlemania 36 is in Florida, in the Raymond James Stadium. That place has a pirate ship with cannons and everything...

If Kairi doesn't get a special entrance with that I may have to give up on wrestling.

I don't know the context behind Joey's tweet as I don't listen to Jim Cornette, maybe someone who does listen to Cornette can fill in the gaps.

Cornette hates the dick spot that joey Ryan does. There's probably more to it than that but that's the one issue I know cornette has with joey Ryan off hand.

I've no doubt that Cornette would physically attack Ryan if the two ever came face to face.

    Cornette has serious issues.

Probably some form of undiagnosed personality disorder.

Well the two were in the same building for an event cornette did commentary on and he didnt attack him then. He did ask the people running the show to not allowed joey Ryan do the dick spot and he didn't. I wouldn't say serious issues and as much as I love his memory for the history of pro wrestling I'll admit he has certain things he doesn't like about modern wrestling which he won't budge on.

Joey just picked a gimmick that doesn't gel with what Cornette thinks professional wrestling should be, but that's the beauty of it there's something for everyone's tastes in the game.

Actually the gimmick is fine, it's just the particular YouPorn Plex that 'ol Jimmy's got a problem with.

It's when he starts on about breaking up cars with tyre irons (young kid who was working for him) and trying to commit vehicular homicide of a rival promoter in Nashville back in the SMW days that I go right off him.

He has terrible anger issues which he can't let go. Like he's still on about killing Russo 20 yrs on, It's pathetic.

Loads of fans love tagging Cornette in clips of stuff they know he'll give out about. Joey's probably just sick of it. Fans who do that need to get a life tbh. Think Cornette is going to be their mate.

Cornette is legit with his tastes, but like anyone in wrestling, take him with a pinch of salt. He's a gimmick.

Is this official? Because I've seen it reported on Reddit, and the source was *He who shall not be named*, The Chris Benoit of Boards. Some know him as Big Trev.

Interesting what he said about an off season, copying a bit of it from the link
I think if we could make it work, it would give a great benefit to our performers and our fans as well. It would definitely give our performers another couple of months if not a full quarter to rest and recover, not only just from a physical standpoint, but creatively.

and he does make a good point, when he says it could benefit themselves and the fans. A chance to heal up for any one who might be hurt, and fans wouldn't be burnt out with such 24/7 365/6 (depending on the year, cause leaps years) content.

Trev didn't get the jump on the Jarrett news. Mike Johnson at PWInsider reported it. I would be surprised if that is one of Trev's aliases!

Re a pro wrestling off season, it makes so much sense it's not even true. Guys would be healthier, refreshed and would perform better. Stale acts would get a natural break instead of being forced off. Injuries would be lesser. Nagging problems would heal. To be honest it amazes me with all the refreshing ways they've modernised in terms of wellness policy, blood & heart tests, concussion protocol, rehab for performers with addictions etc, that they've not come to the conclusion an off season would be good. I look at Tomasso Ciampa or Randy Orton or Rey Mysterio, guys who are prone to picking up problems. 8 weeks at home with the family resting their body would prolong their careers and hopefully take them out of that cycle of getting injured.

The reality is WWE is a soap. Soaps don't take breaks and I'm sure a knowledgeable man like yourself knows that.

Nah he'd have made himself known by now. Ego's too big to stay hidden for long. Besides, absolutely nobody would get away with saying anything negative about Becky without an accosting in their PM's if he was.

Doubt anyone is calling for WWE to close its doors for a full two months and have an off season like they do in sports. I don't know how many wrestlers they've currently got employed but you give a certain number some time off while working with the rest of your roster, when they come back you give another few some time off etc etc and from January to Wrestlemania you have your full roster.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,258 ✭✭✭The White Wolf

I've admittedly been on boards through multiple aliases over the last 10 years and I know the man ye are referring to only too well. I could spot him a mile off if he was still here.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,313 ✭✭✭✭CastorTroy

Was actually just reminded about him today for some reason. Couldn't remember his name. Don't know why I never realised it was just Trevor backwards.

As for an off season, might give other titles more prominence.

So now Charlotte's taking shots at Ronda on Twitter.

Can someone please remind Captain Badass here that her last two fights before coming to WWE ended with her unconscious and sobbing in the cage?

Four years ago, you were untouchable. Now? Not so much.

    You’re a class act, @RondaRousey

Its not news but I can't wait for WrestleMania to end so this Rousey/Lynch/Third Wheel Charlotte thing can hopefully end.
I haven't enjoyed a worked shoot storylines since I was a teenager so as an adult it comes across as patronising.

I'm in the same boat now unfortunately. Should be hyped to see an Irish person in the main event of Wrestlemania and possibly win but this bollocks storyline has sapped almost all interest I had.

Crutches that should've disappeared weeks ago, authority figures for no reason, over-booked nonsense like, bear with me here....

    - You've won the rumble, you're in the main event of Mania, congrats.

    - But wait, you're injured? Get checked out by the doctors.

    - You won't? Well you're out.

    - Oh you got checked by the doctors and you're fine? That's great, apologise for hitting us and you're back in. Thank you for the apology, you're in.

    - Wait, you're suspended now and Charlotte is in.

    - Wait, you're actually reinstated again but you have to beat Charlotte to get back in the Mania main event but even though we wouldn't clear you two months away from Mania when you weren't on crutches, we will clear you one week from Fastlane when you are on crutches.

Yeah I'm the same. When Becky won the rumble and decided to pick Ronda I couldn't wait for the match but with what they've done storyline wise adding charlotte and whatever the **** Rhonda was trying to do ****ting all over the business in that video, I'm not out but I'm leaning towards meh.

Edit: I know the business is open and kayfabe is dead(lovely funeral btw) but what Ronda was doing which was obviously okayed by vince was like digging up the body and taking a dump on the corpse.

It should've been Rumble winner vs. Champion of her choice - It's so simple, even monkey's at typewriters could write it, clearly the K.I.S rule doesn't apply to WWE writing - Then again with Vince ultimately okaying everything, how can it apply.

And if you believe Miesha Tate, who guested on MMA Tonight on SiriusXM last Wednesday, she chimed in on Ronda/Becky's recent back n' forth via Twitter when she said the following.
It got under her skin. I know about this,You don’t talk about her family, you don’t talk about this, even if it’s just a joke. She does not have a sense of humor, and therefore (expletive) got real. … No, Ronda’s pissed. Ronda’s not joking. She’s not playing games. She’s not used to having to play by rules. She never had to before. Why is she going to now? She’s already broken the rule with the F-word, saying some things are ‘fake.’ She’s not a company woman. She never has been.

The one thing that I have found interesting from the Ronda/Becky/Charlotte social media stuff tells you is that while the audience is too savvy to believe almost anything presented on TV could be "a shoot", there are still some who can convince themselves what happens on twitter or instagram just *might* be real.

It reads really transparent to me but a quick skim on casual twitter and hardcore wrestling twitter and you can see people really buying it.

While Gallows, 35 years old and Anderson, 39, had multiple meetings with WWE about their future, we have been told by three sources over the last two days that the pair have turned down “multi-million-dollar deals” from the company and intend to exit after their current deals expire.

I know WWE have money to burn but why would they offer those two "multi million dollar deals"? Gallows and Anderson are a nothing tag team. Hardly like they'd be a game-changer for AEW.

Likely both combined, over multiple years were multi million deals.
But I believe that WWE will give out stupid contracts to anyone with any name value if only to prevent them going elsewhere. It's why they have a roster of well over 200 now, around 80% (likely more tbh) of those under contract aren't even over, which is sad in a way. Who's going to even notice a Luke Gallows is gone when he's had maybe 2 or 3 televised matches the last 6 months.
To be honest what have they done in the last 3 years to make WWE offer them a new contract?
They've been booked as the equivalent of a 4th choice goalkeeper in football. There when needed, in case of emergency to fill a space.

Well to be fair to them they both played big roles in the Bullet Club, and the bullet club was a game changer in a way. On their own they probably wouldn't be much, but they could still do well for themselves together outside WWE. They might rejoin Tama Tonga.

For WWE though I think they just don't want to see their talent leave and go to AEW. Even guys like Gallow and Anderson are getting WWE worried because it might encourage others to leave.

Shouldn't carry this on as LTSC is 100% right that we should not have chat about posters who are not here to defend themselves but I do believe that is why people have referred to the former poster as "He who shall not be named" or "The Chris Benoit of boards PW".

Put simple guys, he was a very informative poster who was a great source of news (whether that was 2nd hand info from other online sources I guess isn't important) for the board for a period of time. The issue was, that we have a don't be a D!ck rule here on boards.ie , It's a pretty all incompassing rule but he fell fowl of it a number of times (his final ban was his 2nd permanent ban from the board for example). No matter who you are and how much you "add to the forum" if you are a D!ck you won't be welcome to post here.

Recently I have noticed a few posts where people are overly critical of others opinions or call people out on their punctuation etc and I'd hope such issues don't escalate as honestly the mods don't want/like to take action towards people. I'd also like to note that we have no probem with anyone naming Rovert/Trevor (although odds are he was not the original source of said info) as a source of info if you want to but once said former poster and not the news being referenced becomes the topic of conversation then of course mods (who in fairness are intentionally pretty relaxed usually) will do as LTSC did above and tell everyone to get back on topic / cut the chat.

That said it did make me laugh to see Necro suggest myself and himself were one and the same. :pac:

anyway (leaving that topic in the past) News & Rumours...

Dana Warrior joined the WWE creative team. didn't see it mentioned here. Could be a great writer for all we know but I can't see that going well online.
