Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi

Just wondering if anyone has any experience of this B'Twin bike. Comes in at just over €400 at the moment, might pick one up next week in Belfast.

I'll be using it for touring and the odd spin where I live on country roads. I need the front suspension fork due to an old elbow injury. Have looked for a good second hand one online for a while for under €500 but no luck and I've no intention of buying a nicked one. Usually carry 12-13 kg of stuff with me on long trips if I'm taking the tent, sleeping bag, cooker etc. for a week or two. Apart from that I just do day trips with one pannier.

Seems well equipped, has decent tyres, bit heavy at 18 kg but that's not an issue. Decathlon products are fine IMO, I have plenty of cycling clothing from them and am very happy with them, it's just that I have no experience of the quality of their bikes.

I don't think its a good bike for touring personally, it's poor build, very heavy, spec is poor, the front suspension is of very low quality.

This one on adverts is far superior for the money.

Probably fine for a short commute, going to the shops etc but for "touring"? Just too heavy and with too many cheap bits and pieces, ready to fall off, in my opinion!

Avoid suspension on cheap bikes. Decathlon products fine IMO and had one of their MTB's a few years ago and was as good as any.
Even with the elbow I'd say suspension on roads is unnecessary.

The carbon forks are great for a smooth ride and this one looks better value IMO
