Always looking for walks, so that river walk sounds great.

try the new one its really really good.
The entrance is here at the old mill

Walk follows the liffy to golden falls dam. You can keep going past the DAM and up to the lake.

i know its a bit far from newbridge, but the restaurant in ballymore eustace is really good. might be called the ballymore inn. i found it better than 2 cooks.

ballymore eustace has a nice walk along the river which you could do as well.

obviously closed now, but just letting you know for when life returns.

Ballymore inn is great, but I’d consider 2cooks a step up in both quality and price.

It was Victoria Gardens I felt very salty. Expensive too. We had Fate a couple of times and it's ok.

    Will try Tigger.

+1 for Tigger. They also open at 4 (most places open at 5 afaik).

Flaming Wok in Clane is also quite nice.

152 new appartments coming to Devoy Quarter in Naas.

    https://www.devoyshd.ie/

This side of town is being over developed at a crazy rate. Elsmore, Castlefarm, Primrose Gardens all recent additions and no proper amenities being planned. Elsmore 2.0 (other side of the John Devoy road) construction has just started. Castlefarm are trying to remove the creche from their plans just to rub salt. No decent park in the area like Monread or the Lakelands in the future plans. The new Oak park is almost a kilometer away.

What are the planners thinking in Naas.... seems to have run away on them altogether.

    Castlefarm: 183 houses
    Elsmore: 258 houses
    Primrose Gardens: approx 110 houses
    Elsmore 2.0 (starting constuction): 314 houses/appartments

Thats 1000+ new homes in an area with no large park or recreation area. Thats on top of the existing Jigginstown estates and Arconagh

Did these 152 apartments ever get the go ahead?

Isn’t the intended site where Whitethorn is currently being developed?

    Yes.

It's in the space between Whitethorn and the Osprey.

I heard the Monread have never been busier, in regards to food. I still haven't gotten grub from it though.

Download the RHK app and select The Monread. You can see a menu and order for delivery or collection.

It was probably 2 out of 10 the night we ate there a couple of years ago

Would have been better quality food from the chippy next door

I'd rather cook my own food until they open up

I have a lot of admiration for Bouchon to not serve take away food as they feel they wouldnt be able to deliver the quality they feel they give their customers from dining in

I ate in it once, would not go back.

    Huge portions, but stodge.

Might be grand for a carvery dinner, if that's what people fancy for a change.

As pub grub goes in Naas the Monread is best of the lot imo.

Must say I tried the Bang Burger place last weekend for the first time. Really impressed.

I go there occasionally, but 33 south main is better and graces is better again, not many pub grub options in Naas after that unless you include hotels?

I'd rather a subway to be honest

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,154 ✭✭✭mistersifter

Bang isn't bad. Not as good as some places like Bunsen and whathaveye, but definitely worth a lash.

There's another burger place due to go in there near rustic too. Looking forward to tryin that.

I enjoyed the food in the lodge once when it re-opened initially but IMO it went downhill very fast. Had a couple of not great experiences in there after.

  • Registered Users Posts: 11,220 ✭✭✭✭Lex Luthor

    not another burger joint ....!!!

and I bet they still serve the burgers on sesame buns from tesco

  • Registered Users Posts: 21,023 ✭✭✭✭Ash.J.Williams

Lex’s food options are getting slim

No mention of “33 south main”? Had it a good few times and can’t beat the Jack Daniels chicken wings. They also do a Sunday roast. I’d agree it’s not the same as dining in, but is the next best thing. Must give the Monread a try
