Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Just having a browse around the bike shops locally yesterday. I am looking at getting a road bike through the bike to work.

Any personal experience with either of the below? The giant seems to get good reviews - specification wise, the bikes appear equal enough with ultegra/105 mix. Or for €250 more would one go for the carbon frame?

    Giant Defy 0 - €1250

    Bottecchia 8AVIO EVO - €1500

TBH you seem to be comparing apples and oranges, the Bottecchia would seem to me to have a much more racing orientated geometry than the Defy, best to have a rough idea what you want and then easier to compare.

Bottecchia is a fine looking machine.

I got the new defy 2. Apart for the drive train and the more milage hubs, is it worth the extra.

I very much doubt anyone rather than pros could tell the difference between the 105 and the Tiagra 20 speed

Having had both, I'd take Tiagra (4600) everyday over 105 (5700)
