Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    I live in Rarhmines.

In the last two weeks the tap water has become undrinkable. Has a serious tang of chemicals off it. Been here four years, no issues previously.

Anyone else experience this? How does one test the water to ensure its safely drinkable?

Probably tastes bitter because we will be paying for it.

Try lighting it on fire - if it's flammable then it's definitely worth paying for.

I live in D6 and have never drank the tap water, bottled water only. It's always tasted off.

Here in Dublin the only way I can drink water is if its boiled first. When I visit relations in the country, near the west coast, the well water they have tastes much different / better than Dublin water.

I used to live in Rathmines (Castlewood Close) I reckon there is a chlorine station nearby, because the water always tasted rank. Like another poster, I used to buy bottled water all the time.

Maybe there is a plan behind these so they can drug us and get more votes as the election is coming up soon enough.

Mines been like that for a few years.

I buy volvic water* to drink, as you can use it in the Kettle as well with no problems.

I always keep my receipts too. In case of future billing issues.

*My missus has a big Science head on her and thats why it volvic and not any other brand :(

Mine has tasted like it was full of chemicals for years. It often gets bad enough that the whiff off it is like a swimming pool. Whenever I used to drink it, it made me feel sick for hours. Happily, couple of months ago, I got one of those brita filter jugs and that strips most of the nastiness out of it.

Nope, it tastes great and anyone who stays with me tends to rave about how good it is.

    Very fancy having running water.

  • Registered Users Posts: 156 ✭✭Depraved

Yes it does. But that's because I live in The Philippines.

Saying that, the tap water here still tastes nicer than water from a Dublin tap. Hmmm...perhaps it's because you have to pay for water here. OMG....could Irish Water be right?????

Thankfully, 6 liters of bottled spring water only costs €1.20 here, so it's what I drink. But with the temperature being 30-35c 24/7, I go through that quickly!

Water colour is it OP? If it's brown drink it down, if it's black send it back.

I love going home to Donegal and having a glas of water from the tap. It's like my mammy's cooking, there's nothing like it.

Dublin tap water is some of the best I've ever drank.
