Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Thought there would be a thread for this. Scope for an upset here if both continue their recent form.

Maybe Pools best chance of 4th is a total City implosion.

Very disappointing time in England, came flying out of the blocks first few games but has done next to nothing since.

They seem to have coached him out of taking on players. He always seems to either cross it first time or lay it back to his supporting full back.

With his speed he should be taking on his full back a lot more.

    Hands off, Kompany

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,084 ✭✭✭✭Kirby

Kompany in no mans land there marking empty space. What a fall from grace.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,406 ✭✭✭✭LuckyLloyd

Good game this. Palace have been under a lot of pressure and don't deserve to be ahead but sets it up nicely.

Looked offside at first glance. Anyone catch the replay?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 53,262 ✭✭✭✭GavRedKing

Palace will do well to get to HT with this lead imo

Not the only member of the City squad to have dropped a few levels this season.

There was probably three different parts to it that were close, I think the second pass was offside.

It wasn't a great angle but to me it looks like the shot taker is ahead of the goal scorer therefore no offside.

I would like to see it again though. The original flick on could be suspect.

Dann is 100% offside when the ball is flicked on the first time. I think Murray might just have been off too. But the first one is an awful miss by the linesman.

1st isnt off, 2nd is and the 3rd looks off.

    Christ,

I hate commentators talking about difficult an offside is to tell, its their job, make an educated guess.

Arms don't count when taking into account offside. He was offside.

Edit, and even if he did, his head is still in front of your mans arm.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,084 ✭✭✭✭Kirby

Who is that moron co-commentating? "Hes offside there at the back post". Murray is level with the shot taker you idiot.

The flick on is offside. That's the one he should be talking about.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 53,262 ✭✭✭✭GavRedKing

City if they dont get their act together will have a nervy few games.

Araenal and Utd are playing so well theyll be difficult to stop even if they were playing on top of their game.

Utd v city will be a big game to decide who finishes between 2nd - 4th

Two players offside for that goal. The standard of officiating this season has been risible.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,361 ✭✭✭Boskowski

How the hell could he be offside if he was actually behind the ball when the pass was played. Seriously.

Exactly! You would think a commentator would know the rules, but no.

Regardless, Dann looks offside for the flick on. Shouldn't have stood.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,661 ✭✭✭Fuhrer

Murray seems to be enjoying himself at least.

    This years Rickie Lambert

To be honest I thought he was ahead of the ball when it was hit but I'll have to see it again.

Dann was offside for the flick on. That goal should have been chalked off.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,191 ✭✭✭✭Shanotheslayer

Understandable the ref couldn't call that offside. Really tight, but offside is offside, weather it's a foot or miles off side.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 38,247 ✭✭✭✭Guy:Incognito

Theres too much going on , too fast for a linesman to make these calls on his own anymore. He has to watch the ball to know when the touch happens as well as any number of players 10 or 15 yards away looking for bits of bodies ahead of each other. You're just not going to get accurate calls all the time if its anyway close. It's educated guessing at best.

Demichelis was leaning over the line. Maybe it was off maybe it wasn't. It's impossible to call and the rule also says when in doubt go with the goal.
