Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Has for a good while now, unfortunately.

Playing very well but just like all season, missing that striker to put the ball in the net.

Liverpool are dominating. Only a matter of time

None of that back 4 for Liverpool inspire confidence.

Liverpool getting a lot of joy out wide but no target man at all. Might finally be a game for Lambert.

This is the type of game that Sterling should be stepping up in and showing us he's worth over £100k a week.

Without meaning any disrespect to Lambert, opponents like this would be perfect for him.

I know its terminally unhip but Lambert would be a good option, Liverpool are being kept at arms length so why not "punt" it on to his head?

Is someone going to say this every game now?

Sterling at least able to get on the ball more in this system

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,948 ✭✭✭✭Osmosis Jones

This is the exact situation we bought Lambert for and then never utilised him in

I'll try to. When he steps up then I will stop. :)

Sterling has been our best player so far, playing very well.

Lambert has played in these type of games, and still not done much, tbh.

We'd still be playing the same way. We don't really have a traditional winger or crosser of the ball to change things up and make it more direct, or anything.

What's Allen doing so high up the pitch

How a professional football club can have a pitch this bad i'll never know. Anfields pitch is a disgrace too mind.

Liverpool well on top but not creating too many clear chances.

You should see the state of Blackpool's. Honestly don't think they should play football on it.

That's what happens when you fail to replace a player like Suarez.

There's about 3 players in the world who could replace him.

Very hard to see where a goal is coming from, apart from a hit and hope strike from Sturridge or Couthino.
There is no good team build up play, players are all to static or decide to take far too many touches around the box.

    Pretty poor game.

Blackburn are clearly a level below. Not one of those Championship sides that you feel wouldn't look out of place in the EPL - they look like they clearly belong in a lower tier.

The fact that Liverpool can't seem to create anything against them is a poor reflection on us. Blackburn are well organised but there is little invention and few moments of genuine class being shown by us.

Blackburn aren't coming out to play, so I would like to see a striker come on, play Sterling in the hole like last year and move Coutinho back into midfield.

This will mean that if Blackburn continue to drop deep Sterling will pick up a lot of space in between the lines and hopefully be able to run directly at defenders and will add a lot more creativity into the midfield with Coutinho picking up the ball deeper.

Borini or Lambert on for Allen would be my half-time sub, 4-1-2-1-2. Not much to lose here really in making this forward move as Blackburn aren't playing

    Ok i'll rephrase that.

Thats what happens when you don't even come anywhere near replacing Luis Suarez.

    Happy with this actually...
    Blackburn defending well,
If they can keep possession and string some passes together they'll have a much better chance..
Not going to cut Liverpool open with a long ball to Rhodes..
Need to attack a little more.
    Play a passing game.

Rodgers needs to tweak the formation 4-1-2-3 is wasting Sterling on left, Coutinho likewise wasting too much time coming from wider right, just play the diamond.

Are BT really suggesting handball from Allen?

    Owen is a clown.

Mignolet deserves credit there. Great save and reactions to the "skim.

Pretty sure it didn't touch Allens arm but sure just ignore that Mickey.

Sports stations looking desperately for penalties with super slo-mo and it turns out to be a nothing incident is just wrong.
