Mackey and Flanagan very quiet the last day I know Mackey back from injury so maybe he'll be improved today - Casey the star man for Limerick who definitely have the gods aligned in their favour this championship and could steal 3 in a row

Gleason Tipp FF will take watching, he was their main man the last day - interesting game - the way the dice is rolling for both teams at the moment I'd nearly fancy Limerick although on paper Tipperary have more

why do you say McGrath is sensational ?
I saw him in the dean Ryan cup and harty and he was imo

Young but he just oozes class everything he does

Young but he just oozes class everything he does

He's Solid - great pedigree of course, good hand, good free taker
    reads game well
    maybe he will develop further

Shane Kingston is sensational in my opinion - to dominate an inter county minor game scoring 1-9 is sensational

stand out by a country mile imo

I think we might just shade the minor. Neither side have hit their top form yet, Tipp are in front of a home crowd, but Limerick have added experience at this level. Hope we can do it anyway.

    3 early scores for Tipp.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,264 ✭✭✭✭Fireball07

Now 3-in-a-row for Limerick- Casey free, Mackey from play, Casey from play.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,264 ✭✭✭✭Fireball07

Had a couple of goal chances but missing them, Mackey doing well. Half-back line well on top but we've hit 3 wides and Tipp have hit none.

    Teams still level.

is this on Tipp or Limerick local radio? no interest in Dublin hammering Westmeath.

I'm listening on 95fm, should be on their website too. Good game so far.

Tipp back in the Limerick, 6 wides for Limerick. Tipp have made a few adjustments to their team, have an extra man in the middle and it's working.

But now Flanagan has just levelled things up again.

Ryan & Casey exchange points. 0-5 apiece.

Peter Casey free puts us into the lead for the first time.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,264 ✭✭✭✭Fireball07

Limerick leading 0-10 to 0-8 at the break.

Doesn't seem to have really caught fire yet, Limerick possibly edged it though. Peter Casey has hit 8 of Limerick's 10 points, 3 from play. Need to get more of a contribution from Hayes, Murphy, Flanagan... they have the ability.

But it does seem like Casey is running riot. Winning high and low ball.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,264 ✭✭✭✭Fireball07

Tipp dominating the early exchanges of the 2nd half, they have scored 3 without reply to take the lead.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,264 ✭✭✭✭Fireball07

Two Peter Casey frees levels things up again, one needed an intervention from the linesman, the other the Tipp man dragged down Murphy who was through on goal.

    Tipp have 3 yellows now.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,264 ✭✭✭✭Fireball07

Back into the lead! Another free for Casey after Murphy pulled down.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,264 ✭✭✭✭Fireball07

Tipp just missed a great goal chance, recycled and Eoghan Mac made a save and tipped it over the bar. And then they score from the puckout too. Level again.

Thanks for the updates Fireball07, sounds much better than Dublin vs Westmeath

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,264 ✭✭✭✭Fireball07

Limerick took the lead, now Tipp have.

    0-16 to 0-15

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,264 ✭✭✭✭Fireball07

Peter Casey hits his 13th and levels it up.

Tipp get another yellow and their full-back has to go off injured.

A Barry Murphy point has put us into the lead.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,264 ✭✭✭✭Fireball07

Fairbrother levels it up again with a free.

    5ish minutes to go.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,264 ✭✭✭✭Fireball07

    Tipp into the lead!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,264 ✭✭✭✭Fireball07

Lyndon Fairbrother gets another free for Tipp. They are two up, 2 minutes to go.

Limerick need to get the next score.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,264 ✭✭✭✭Fireball07

Shane Neville puts Tipp 3 up, they're starting to win all the ball.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,264 ✭✭✭✭Fireball07

    20-metre free.

    Need a goal.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,264 ✭✭✭✭Fireball07

    Missed the free.

Ref has blown up 40 seconds before the 2 minutes!

Tipp have won, bit of anger at the ref on the pitch.

Ball was still in play around the goalmouth, Limerick had a chance to get a goal. Bit of a strange one.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 51,054 ✭✭✭✭Professey Chin

Terrible call at the end. Hometown decision if I've ever seen one

Not as great last year team as that was exceptional but great performance it sounded by limerick and unlike Intermediate and senior loss where they were huge favourite limerick were under dog in this but that's good showing and improving all the time and could make all ireland semi final

This showing is good for daly in puts more pressure on Ryan as manager

Good tippeary side and no shame loosing them I always felt they win munster
They won't want play limerick again

The crucial score for the minors seemed to come from POL being disposed, might be better off switching him up front.

It did... but bar that, it sounded like he had a very good game and who else do we have in the half-back line? You could maybe move Byrnes to centre-back and move Kyle Hayes back but we have loads of forwards already. On paper, we have a lot of strength up front but it seemed to be Casey doing it all for long parts.

He hit 13 or 14 points today.

lol yeah he was a real homer alright, 18-7 frees in favour of Limerick and Tipp were awarded there first free after 31 mins!

Ball was still in play but a tipp man was coming out with it. After the goalie had saved the free in

Fair enough. The commentary I was listening to said that the ball was still loose.

There is no real complaint after 70 minutes have been played tbh, although Eoin Mac took a good while to go up to take the penalty. It just adds to the overarching point that timekeeping should not be in the referees hands for intercounty games. In every single game this year, too little time has been added on.

Final not epic but both teams still in it

Hard to know who will go all the way this year - very open I'd say with Galway not shown there hand yet so could be suprise team

Desparately disappointed from cork point of view to fail at last hurdler

As Rochestown and cork fan been a tough year sir those lads and hopefully they'll. come. Good yet - they shud try keep them together next few years

Intereting and great to see I think 8 cork teams listed for Harty this coming year hopefully this will be benefit next years minors

I think out of the starting 15 players on the cbs thurles winning harty cup winning team '15 not one of them are on the winning starting 15 tipp minor Munster team. I know a few where over age.

    Enda Heffernan was on both.

What a load of bollocks from Westmeath Co Board they wouldn't either give their minor players jerseys or filed to provide a replacement set when originals went 'missing'

    These idiots are everywhere

What should I expect to pay into Clones for Minor hurling quarter final between Dublin and Antrim?

Will be bringing a few with me but want to put the price on a FB PAGE

Don't know what ticket prices are but isn't game in Kingspan Breffni Park not Clones??

I imagine it will cost something- €5 or €10 most likely. Free for U-16s, you'd imagine.

It was €10 for the U-21s and earlier minor games, I think; €5 for students and OAPs.

Limerick have made two changes to their team for the Galway game. Brian Ryan is out, I assume he's injured as he'd be considered one of their stronger players. Cian Magner Flynn is a good replacement to have. Oisin O'Reilly replaces Tom Hayes as the other change. Hopefully we can do it Sunday, very hard to know how good Galway are though.

Galway worth their 2 pt halftime lead. hit some lovely points but some poor wides also towards the end of the half. KK as always look dangerous running at the Galway defence

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,177 ✭✭✭zetecescort

much better 2nd half from Kilkenny, scored 5 without reply and looked well on top before Galway got a goal to level the game. exchanging points since, level now with 3 min left

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,177 ✭✭✭zetecescort

Galway force a extra time with a point in injury time, very enjoyable game so far

KK surging ahead in ET here.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,177 ✭✭✭zetecescort

Kilkenny the much better team in ET. couple of nasty flicks in the head from Galway players

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 6,428 ✭✭✭Talib Fiasco

That Leahy fella is sh*t hot. What a player.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,177 ✭✭✭zetecescort

Galway finish a long range free to the net just when Kilkenny were cruising. Galway now lead in injury time having looked dead and buried
