Not cheap but hell I want it! Even has rare as hens teeth a/c yet no leather. But that's the way the German companies used to roll. A massive (expensive) options list and so you could end up with some strange spec mixes.

Pity about the wheels, but that's a personal thing

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,863 ✭✭✭RobAMerc

the wheels are awful and make the whole lot look gaudy. Maybe without them and the uber shiny paint it would look less like a respray tart up job and more like an immaculate original car which I think it actually is.
If the paint is original and he puts the original wheels on it then WOW ...

I think you're being very optimistic hoping for original paint I'd be very surprised if it was. That radio looks terrible too. I hope he sells it before any more tat is attached to it.

I think he means the price it will cost fully registered here , which is quite helpful. And maybe sorts out timewasters.

Makes a change from the crowd who hide reg plates and those who say VRT is €50.

It’s a 91 car so should be easier to sell here in a few months.

Exactly, no one in their right mind from here would consider buying a car that's so close to being 30.

Clean looking 300SEL, love the seats, looks good with those alloys. New NCT. €8,500.
Can't see the dash to see what options it has (or has not). Could be deliberate but worth a call.

Its an SE and has velour, cruise and electric steering column, aftermarket alloys and exhaust! There is also something going on with the front carpet. Of course the biggest turn off is the ZV plates on an '87!

I'd say it handles like a pig on those wheels. Old Mercs don't like the wrong sized wheels and tyres

Cloth Sportline interior (not Cossie) is far better than leather. I watched this car for two years on a classic dealers website in the UK. Its a cracking car and was too expensive at the time. Its fully loaded and is an absolute gem and putting those wheels on it deserves no less than public castration!! Its worth every penny even at that price. Absolutely love it

Are you serious? No test, the usual aggressive I'm not bothered so don't bother me spiel from the seller and I don't know how you can tell it's in great nick because those pictures are dreadful.

Wow, what a crazy ad. "No nct, if it had I would be looking for a lot more."
An NCT is €54 so why not do it and get the lot more ?

"Folder of over 60 pages of history, no mystery," except the pics are a total mystery as to wtf is in them.

The car might be nice, but the advert is not.

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,884 ✭✭✭Tzardine

The car might be nice, but the advert is not.

Awful awful advertisement. If the car was anyway decent it would sell in no time, it has a lot going for it, but you would be taking decent pictures, not some awkward shots from a dimly lit underground carpark. No NCT is absolutely a red flag on this one. I imagine it has failed rather than just expired. Its out 3 years.

And the seller comes across as a total gowl.

I think you missed the emotional response I got to the ad in my post. I want it. Yea, the ad is crap. but thats irrelevant, the car, the engine, the colour combo mean I want it, and it looks in half decent nick - so to my eye for that car at that money it looks like a bargain. I wouldnt be writing it off because the lads potentially an a**hole, if I was in the market I'd be going for a look.

    +1

That car is a steal for that sort of money if it is anywhere half decent.

I think that's how the majority of people view car enthusiasts.
