This is beautiful, good price too at €6,500. I love the colours and the interior.

That's gorgeous realistic price too. You'd probably get a bit of film work with that car!!

    This is lovely, nicely spec'd 2.6 190.

And kudos to whoever had those plates made up for it, font and spacing etc look perfect for a period early 90s plate.

There's been a few rather expensive 190s on DD recently. The spec is top draw and it looks good at a glance but I'd have to draw a line at 5k They are not rare enough to command a premium even with A/C!

Someone took the plunge, it's gone.

Not surprising really it looked the business.

I'd pay a couple of grand more for that than most of the others on DD.

Yes, there are a lot of them, but most of them are of little or no interest.

Discard all the ones with no NCT, or with technical issues.
Then all the ones that are obviously 'well worn'.
Then all the one that have a low spec.
Then all the ones with the less desirable engine/gearbox combos.
Then all the ones that are scratched, damaged or the colours aren't right.
You're left with very few cars.

That one above is exceptional. The only thing I don't like about it is the 120xxx number. It looks bad. I would have tried to register it somewhere else.

Apart from that the exterior has the best colours going IMHO, the facelifted black over grey. Plenty of options too and an excellent engine/box option.

It's a bit pricey, but if looking for a good one I'd pay €6,500 for that all day long, maybe more. You'd sell it to a serious buyer quick enough when you want to get rid of it and the price would deter the usual time wasters.

On the reg thing, does anyone know the ranges; Dublin is 120nnn, Wicklow is 11nnn [based on the Porsche 928 in the basement of my apt block that recently got brought in]

As Kev says above, if bringing in a classic I would be very inclined to try and get it reg'd in another county initially and then do a change of address.

anyone know where those plates can be got ?
I think I would like a set for one of my cars.

I got some pressed plates with big lettering recently, but they dont look as good as these.

That's exactly the font I wanted for my yoke.

What did you pick on their site? Font, material etc. I presume "Irish font". They've quite a range of acrylic plates.

I used 'UK Legal' on acrylic reflective white. The nice thing about the site is that you can play about with fonts, badges, footers to choose what you want. I have a 1990 car which still has the original dealer plates and the 'UK Old 2004' is the closest. If you use the site dont forget to buy two white plates or you will get one white and one yellow by default

Yeah. I was messing around with it alright but seeing as you have the font I wanted on the 300, I was best to just go straight to the point. :)

I had a set of their black and silver pressed plates on my Midget before I got Ace plates for it and they were much nicer than the normal motor factor ones. Proper large font.

I don't know about cars, but other stuff regularly goes for around or under estimates in that auction house.

Also, sometimes if you ring up and offer slightly over estimate they will sell you it before auction...

Late 79 or early 80 I'd say. Lovely original job.

If they want double the upper estimate I'll be around there in the morning - literally. It'll go for several times the estimate as Duke said.

That car is priced at that to get interest going, as any good auctioneer would do. It's all over a few Facebook forums as is. Should get a lot of interest as it doesn't look like a rusted basket case.

I wouldn't touch it. Change fluids, filters, spark plugs etc . New shoes and new discs/pads all round and it should be good to go. It has a lovely patina.

I have to say it looks very solid, it's the only one I've ever seen that the tailgate wasn't rotten to bits with chunks of filler falling out of it. I wonder will the UK buyers be as enthusiastic as us? How does importation work over there now since Brexit?

That PMPA insurance disc holder would have to stay. Class.

Selling this gorgeous little thing as well. Must be Italian as the steering wheel is offset. I would have killed for this as a child.

not to me its not. funny old game this. maybe I dont know what I am missing, but that does nothing for me at all.

I do hope it goes to a good home, and I certainly hope it doesn't go to the UK ( if rumours of UK interest are true  )

I've already registered an account with them, may throw in an absentee bid closer to the date :pac:

I have three old cars sitting around the place at the minute, but one more won't hurt!

Nor me, I'd be happy to pay the estimate or a bit above, and like Kev says just tidy it up a small bit and drive on.

I don't get the hype that many on Ireland's shores have for them, but it would be a lovely little thing to tip around in.

This one used to be driven by an old lady from Howth until recently enough:

    34701196295_cdd2224ed8_z.jpg

I spoke to her many times, she used to be absolutely hounded by fellas literally harassing her to sell it, promising her crazy money for it etc. I've not met her in a few years, but it had a change of ownership in 2018 so she must have finally relented.
