Car seat - britax duo plus and "performance pad"

    I have recently discovered that the car seat and car combination I have is not fully suitable.

    The car seat I have is the Britax duo plus

    I have a BMW car

    Supposedly when the above car seat is used with a BMW car, it needs a "performance pad" which is placed on the seat of the car seat. This flimsy little foam pad costs bloody 30 Euro !! Here it is :

    Im thinking is it worth my while spending 30 Euro on a bit of foam, like in all honesty, what is it realistically going to do in an accident. What do people think on this - is it a gimmick ?


    Is a foam pad like this really going to add more protection ?
