Much of this sort of non-sched movement information comes from folk involved with the airports or traffic management. As such it is usually taken on trust as there may be ' complications' if sources are revealed.

Good close up view of it near the control tower. Not sure if it's a good place for viewing of runway etc

What flightpath will it take leaving Irish airspace? SE over Wexford and on to France?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,924 ✭✭✭Nforce

Mriya will depart at 23.00 from runway 24. The call sign is ADB 3495. Destination is Chateau Roux in France

    According to EINN facebook page

Just talking to one of the lads there's apparently a 20 minute Delay or so on the 2300 departure. so 23.20.

Tbh nobody knows. One person says 10 other says 11. Another says 11.20 . Would least thought ramp lads would know

Just back from Shannon, had a good ole look at it from every viewing angle I could find. With work tomorrow the takeoff is just too late, sadly.

More pics when I get time, but heres a shot of the mobbed scenes at the main viewing area. (I parked on the main road and walked the ~400m)

2km tailbacks to get into the main airport. Best views I got were from the gallery.

I wonder if the flight crew are liking the attention to their movements or are utterly bemused :p

I wonder if it attracts this level of attention everywhere it goes and the crew doesn't even notice any more!

Third floor, and yes its publicly accessible, although I've heard (here) that its sometimes closed. Nice quiet relaxing area, spent 2 almost uninterrupted hours up there while stuck at the airport with a flight delayed for 8 ungodly hours.

When it is closed you can just ask a member of staff to unlock the floor it's usually only closed due to them forgetting to open it up in the morning

Shannon has been absolutely crazy I'm here watching the car park and it's like gatwick car after car.

Left Shannon just after 9 pm,
there's a god bit of traffic around the airport but no problem getting around, the viewing spot alongside the runway is full, you have to walk the few hundred metres if you want to go in there, there is a steady stream of traffic (looking at the plane) in to the airport itself but it's moving along.
Everyone's looking for a decent view but the plane is parked in the middle of the airport where they used to park the troop carriers, so while you can can get a view of it from anywhere you go, there's no particular area you can get close up to it.
There was some action around the plane (airport vehicles etc.) but no lights or anything from the plane itself.
beautiful evening for plane spotting though.

Best spot I found was that viewing gallery, or just as you come into the airport itself.

One thing I thought of... if you're around at the Aeropark viewpoint tonight, just make sure your cars are empty. Cars out on the main road will be very, very vulnerable during the takeoff if there are some wily burglars around.

The best viewing area is beside the control tower, luckily not a lot of people know how to get there. I was there today, there was less than 10 people in the area :)

Did a poster say earlier that it had taken off at 9pm? Or is it still in Shannon?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,075 ✭✭✭Rasmus

I don't usually watch planes fly out of SNN, but do they 'turn on' only before they leave? I have been waiting to see FR108 take off and it's late. (Obviously here to see the Antonov but sure while I'm waiting!)

D'ont forget she makes an impressive sight taxiing so the SAR area is a good option and less congested.

Just picked up his ATC clearance FL310.
