Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

It would be Joes wet dream to get a call from a US tv station looking for his comments.

Maybe if students from the US were partying in a tenement building in the Liberties and someone knocked over a boiling pot of coddle causing several cents of damage.

This certainly puts the Clearys situation into proper perspective!

And I'd say there's a fair few of them in Ireland too, unfortunately

Is Liveline an appropriate program to cover this story? Surly not?

No, but nothing will stop Joe covering as topic if he wants to, no matter how inappropriate.

I'd say the team are frantically trying to get someone who was at the party on the phone.

Warning: This balcony is not suitable for 13 people, or 5 average size Americans

Could it be an American version of Priory Hall so to speak?

    Or somebody's mammy

Speaking of which, it certainly puts the incident of the two people getting robbed in Orlando the other day in perspective

FFS, Joe is tapping into his construction knowledge now.
Please move on to the Cleary's story, or anything else.:(:(

Is Joe conducting the official investigation?

Bloody Joe Duffy. He doesn't give a damn about the families here in a panic at present as long as he gets a handy show with a nice disaster to keep him going. He has provided nothing useful whatsoever.

That's it exactly - you trust the builders and inspectors to do their jobs. Sadly, in this case it doesn't seem to have happened.

Not a chance, nobody died in Clearys

This coverage is starting to remind me of 9/11, I was listening to Joe when the news broke that day

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,065 ✭✭✭✭Odyssey 2005

Ger dermot Bannin on the blower Joe.

I'd say the team are frantically trying to get someone who was at the party on the phone.

As pointed out above, they're probably looking for any Irish mammy with a teenage or early 20s son/daughter in the US on a J1 for Joe to scare the wits out of.

Next up Brindin O'Cardle to discuss the differences between US and Irish balcony construction methods.

Joe will have his investigation completed before the official investigators, who are actually there, will.

Wow. What was that like? I assume the world was about to end in Joe's eyes? And did he identify Liberty Hall as the next likely target?

I have actually read the full 9/11 Commission Report. It was quite interesting actually. However, I don't recall seeing the phrases "so to speak" or "modrin" in it. Hmmm.

They can fook off to the beach now,cos Joes doing their jobs for them. In fairness he's probably getting paid more than the entire team on the ground over there.

He might as well get an Irish fireman on to discuss this. Or an Irish fireman working in Australia maybe so he can say hello to his mammy when he's on the line.

What more news does Joe want, does he want to give out their names before their family know?

I can remember that day as well, if I'm not mistaken Joe was interviewing a Nigerian who was claiming that he was being discriminated against in Ireland and wanted to let everyone know how unfair it was. Does anyone else remember this?
