I just seem to pass my dead eye over a body part and it automatically locks on to the person in multiple places

    Thanks :o

Sometime DE stays active after a shot, but I can only assume that's during scripted moments?

It does that in the earlier stages of of dead eye, changes as you 'level up' in it

Spent way too long trying to get the 3 perfect rabbit pelts for the challenge last night. Can never find them when looking for them and then when I did they were never 3 star. does the herbivore bait work for them?

Hold off on trying for that stuff until you get the talisman or trinket that gives you better pelts. I've been picking up 2* ones due to poor shots or wrong ammo etc and 9/10 they come out as perfects.

    Who sells the trinkets again?

The thrown weapons in the game are by far the best for hilarity :D

Fire bottles in particular (improved even moreso) are an excellent method of waking up the members of random gang camps prior to arrival.

In a more embarrassing note - I only figured out how to use dead eye for more than one shot over the weekend, almost makes it too easy.. :o

how do you do the dead eye thing!?

Which legendary animal do you kill for this and where can I find it?

Finished the story a couple of nights ago. Loved RDR1, so couldn't wait for this one.
Found the initial missions too slow for my liking, I know they wanted to build the story but I wanted more action.

As I had limited time to play, I focused on the yellow main story missions, bypassing most of the side missions. As a result of that, I didn't have the same connection with Arthur for most of the game as I had with John in RDR1 where I played just about every mission before I got to the end. In fact for most of the game, every time I'd hear John speak I was annoyed that it wasn't him I was playing as.

    And yet...

the nearer I got to the end, the sicker Arthur was getting, I found myself wishing I had done more with him. Should've explored more of the map, helped more random strangers, and mainly I wish that I had gone hunting all of the legendary animals with him.
I damn near shed a tear when he said "thank you" to his dying horse.

As a result of all that, when I finally got to play as John it just wasn't the same. I missed Arthur.

By the end of the epilogues, I was once again enjoying playing as John, happy to see him get his happy ending...until I remembered what lays ahead of him in RDR1.

What a range of emotions. Can't remember the last time a game made feel like that.
I plan on replaying sometime in the near future, and playing at a slower pace so I get to take it all in properly.

Does that only work for small game though. I've not had the larger animals turn from 2 star into a perfect pelt, carcasses you have to pick up and put on the horse. Most times they change into a perfect pelt on anything you put into your satchel.

RDR is one of my favourite games but unfortunately this is leaving me cold. I can appreciate the amount of work that went into it but it just hasn’t hooked me like the original.

Im very surprised by this game. Rdr1 and gtav were very casual games and this is a complete 180. Props for sticking to their guns and creating a cowboy simulator game instead of gta with horses.

    9/10 for me

My horse must think I'm a monster when I finish a hunting trip as it is draped in dead animals. Buck and 4 deer pelts on its back with a raccoon and a beaver hanging from its sides.

Getting this game very soon despite some of the negative backlash it's getting.

Negative backlash?? Really?? I have to say i haven't seen much of a negative backlash.

Had a test earlier and you're correct, it only really works for the small ones but that can be handy for some of the early hunting requests.

Haven't bought a game in years but fancy picking this up. Where's the best value do we think? Xbox One.

Yeah, I've been reading here, Reddit and the GTA Forums and nearly everyone is extremely positive. I heard about it being review bombed on Metacritic but that seems to be mostly pissed off PC gamers and trolls who couldn't have played enough of it to rate it 1/10 within days of release.

I think it is one of the best games ever made. Iv not had a game which has hooked me as much as this. Even the missus is giving out to me over it. The step daughter bought it aswell and its what we talk about over dinner :D

Negative backlash?? Fallout 76 is getting negative backlash, this is a masterpiece. Without a doubt one of the best games of the last decade, maybe ever.

Just got the credits there. What a fantastic story. Also the graphics and sound quality is amazing, not to mention the soundtrack.

One bad thing though I feel like I spent most of that "60 hour gameplay" looking at a horses ass.

Speaking of horses, I was riding around on my black arabian and getting lots of admiration from NPC's one of whom challenged me to a race, which I accepted. Winning gives you a boost to bonding from spurring the horse.

I've been to the swamps looking for egrets and orchids and noticed she was more brown than black so I had to hop off and brush her as soon as I noticed.

I didn't redeem my freebie in Annesburg for a new gun as they didn't have anything worth buying and anything good was locked.

I haven't been up there in ages, I wonder will the freebie still be there for me.

    (Quoting myself)

I went back to Annesburg and my freebie was gone. Use it or lose it.

@Enfilade The Arabian is tiny though.
I did a mission & had to ride beside John Marston's horse and it looked like I was riding a kids pony.

The wife asked me did my horse shrink in the wash :pac:

One person challenged me twice to a race. I beat him in the first one and he beat me in the second one.
