Cool, didn't realise you can hijack those little motor boats. Time to go on a Legendary fishing expedition.

Quick question...I have finished the story and I am currently in free roam and finishing up odd bits.
Basically just pissing off as much people as possible.
There is a derelict church between Rhodes and ST Denis I wanted to explore but I can’t get near it, any time I step even a fraction to close I get shot and I aproched it from all angles.
Anyone any idea what’s in it and why they want to protect it so much?
Those of you who want gold bars and some extra cash go to YouTube and type in gold bar glitch.

    Large Jewelry Bag
    Loot

Found underneath a ruined wall in the abandoned church.

Anyone who is on the Epilogue
Who do you get crafting upgrades off now? Just needed the cougar pelt for the legend of the east satchel. But playing as Arthur couldn't get near New Austin  Kind of defeats the purpose of being able to get it pre Epilogue if you manage to sneak into New Austin to get the Cougar pelt. Read online you can buy it from a fence if you crafted the other satchels. Would have liked to craft it instead of buying it! Should really be able to get a trapper to craft it!

I have a habit of buying newspapers and not reading them. I bought six copies in one go from the paper boy in Strawberry knowing that I'll never read them.

Only option is to buy it. Although
in the credits it does show Pearson running what looks like a general store. Maybe he is somewhere out there still

Does anyone know where I get beaver pelts from?????

I am trying to upgrade my satchels and finding this bit hard. Its tough to hunt small game with 3 stars, I can kill massive Alligators till the cows come home.

I found them north of St Denis. Go to Van Horn and head west in land to the stretch of river south of Elysian Pool. There was loads of them, and the legendary one is in the same area. Pretty easy to kill too. Just make sure you do it on dry land though as his body will disappear down the river otherwise.

He now has a shop in Rhodes, not sure if he still does crafting upgrades though. Fairly sure you can buy everything off the fence in van horn trading post iirc

just into chapter 4 now, the story is great but i am really annoyed that i have missed some missions like i would do some mission and then one or two vanish on me, like i had a saddie mission at the camp but i did one that was closer first and then the saddie one was gone and never came back, same with some other one's. They should really have color coded those icons or give a warning if they cancel out other missions.

Got onto chapter 6 last night, after going slow with the story the first couple of weeks it almost feels like it's flying by now! No hanging around in chapter 5 anyway.

    Was Sadie's mission in yellow?

So yellow markers are story line missions? You need to do each of these to progress the story.
White are side missions? This can add weight/background to the story, but are not required and will disappear if not completed by certain points
Then you have some quests (treasure maps etc). These are totally voluntary and can be skipped in terms of the main story with no story consequence.
    Is that right?

You can't miss this mission. Try going back at another time of day and it should be there.

Pretty much. Sometimes the mission will have someone's name on it but it actually ends up being with someone else. Like I was heading back to camp in chapter 3 and bumped into Hosea
and the cart of moonshine in the woods
on the way in which started me on a mission. He wasn't marked on the map but one of the women in the camp was. I was annoyed after doing the mission with him that the woman's mission was gone, but on further research it was under her name but all she actually does is tell you to go speak to Hosea in the woods so I didn't actually miss anything.

I can think of two other missions similar to the above where the marked quest giver had nothing to do with them.

I think I'm on the same bit, have yellow missions for Dutch and Sadie, better do Sadie first.

Yeah it happens quite a bit. You speak to one person to start the mission, but then someone comes over and it turns out the mission was for them. I think it's just to make sure you have those interactions with people who don't actually give missions, as some of what they might say could be pertinent later, or just to see your relationship with them as they may not be involved in the story too much themselves.

If it's the mission I'm thinking of, the story can't progress without it, so I doubt you've missed it. Try doing another story mission. There is a delay after certain missions and it's likely other characters must be present in the camp to trigger the event. I had yellow marker missions disappear too, but they came back.

Are you at the end of chapter 5? If so I did the dutch one first and the chapter ended but the Sadie one is actually still there at the start of the next chapter.

Trying to find the time to play this game is very frustrating. It's the type of game you need to play for two or three hours at a time, and I just can't find the time at the moment

  • Registered Users Posts: 15,621 ✭✭✭✭Leroy42

Two or three hours? I could spent way more than that, and in the end achieve nothing of note at all!

Its when you run into an ambush or whatever and get killed and want to reload a saved game that you see the last save was 4 hours ago and you hadn't even noticed.

I need some sleep at this stage.

I could too but about 3 hours is the most I've been able to dedicate at any one time. Being an adult gets in the way. Very upsetting.

Its when the kids come in asking to play Minecraft or whatever and your first thought is thinking of buying a second console, that you know you have a problem!

I loaded it yesterday with the plan to do the next story mission as I haven't done one for ages, but instead ended up tracking a legendary animal, then I accidentally (really!) killing some dude and in trying to cover it up ended up killing a witness, then another one, then a stage coach, so killed the driver and then had to chase the passenger, meaning the driver was discover so had to chase that witness! and before I knew it I was on the run with a bounty on my head!

But tonight I am going to do that story mission!

if you find and tame a horse and then saddle it up, what will happen your previous horse? will it be gone forever or back in the sable?

  • Registered Users Posts: 13,409 ✭✭✭✭gimli2112

I bought the two of them back to the stable and was able to select either of them. I now have four stalls and four horses though so not sure what happens if I get another horse.

Anyone get mugged by guys down an alley in Saint Denis at night? Guy told me he has an opportunity for some quick cash and told me to follow him down the alley. I knew it was a set-up but I fancied going down there to kill him and any others and loot them but a quick cutscene plays where you get clocked in the head by a gun from behind and wake up in the graveyard with 20% of your cash gone.

    Avoid.
