Being the good guy in this game is the equivalent of obeying the traffic lights in gta.

My Arthur is a sadistic prick.

Glad to hear it, mine is too. He hates everybody including the gang who he regularly abuses when he returns to camp drunk after a night out in Valentine.

Also no lives are spared in my game, everybody has to die.

Sounds like you would enjoy a trip to Westworld :P

Cant you just say hello to everyone, or donate to camp, and your honour goes up?

    Howdy mister!

Why would you want high honour? I kill nearly every person I meet out on the trail. Much more fun!

    Greeting people, fúcks sake.

First time i've ever had a conscience in a computer game is this game,

Especially rang true when Arthur confided in a camp-mate that he had been ruthlessly killing small animals for no reason :(

I had a heart to heart with one of the women.

Arthur starts spilling his guts to her, saying that he's been killing lots of innocent folk for no god dam reason. :P

As soon as the conversation was over I got back to antagonising everybody.

I especially love fcking with Marston and Uncle.

Well from a story point of view, Arthur supposedly only kills when it's necessary and robs from the rich. Dutch's gang are supposed to be outlaws but they seem to have a code of honor. So the way I look at it Arthur should be an honorable character, especially as the story progresses.

I love heckling the vaudeville acts in St Denis.

Some woman came on stage singing with a band and Arthur roared out 'you should be in a kitchen'.

They're supposed to be loyal and respectful to each other, this is their criminal code of honour.

It doesn't extend to the general public.

In those little side stories I kill them all.

For example, I helped the trapped lady who was stuck under the horse and she was like “can You give me a ride home” I said yes and when she didn’t expect it I lazooed her, tied her up , robbed her and then blew her head off.

I dumped her hogtied body off a nearby cliff.

I was bringing her into town and tried to shoot a deer to pass the time. She threw and absolute strop and jumped off the horse. Vegans!

I dumped her hogtied body off a nearby cliff.

I chucked her on the campfire and just before she stopped twitching, I lobbed a stick of dynamite at her.

Those little moments are the best bits of the Rockstar games for me.

I know he's not everyone's cup of moonshine but the start of this is brilliant

I thought it was a really good review, although the acting bits went on a bit.

He makes some really good points about the poor parts of the game.

Very apt after the session I had earlier.
Stranger NPC: "Hey, mister will you help muh..."
    Me: who said that?
Looks under horse. Cue witnesses for murder. Really is annoying, I feel the last game that never happened, I'm not sure is it the amount of time in the scripting is too short or what.

Just getting back to the lighting, I've gone back to Assassins Creed tonight and it has "harsh lighting" too like sun hitting the horizon etc. but doesn't annoy me as much as that does in Red Dead. Still feel Red Dead might look better if they dialled it back from 11. I'm thinking it's tied to how bad HDR looks as I've tried both with it off and on and with both off red dead still looks over the top and like HDR done wrong.

There are some morals that the gang also seems to hold onto in regards to the general public too.

So have enjoyed roaming around Since I finished the story. Plenty to find and explore. Yesterday I came across a whole family in a remote cabin all wiped out by I presume carbon monoxide poisoning, kids and all. It was grim.
Anyway going to start hunting today so any tips to make things a little easier? What guns are best?
Got two perfect pelts yesterday by robbing them off other hunters .

    Not sure if it's truly a spoiler but I'll hide it anyway, but;
Was New Austin this barron/depressing in Red Dead Redemption 1? I can't fully recall it being this desolate

Yep. they seem to want to protect those persecuted by the government such as Indians & black people.

Can't quite remember what was there in RDR, been 8 years since I played it :D I do vaguely remember a lot of it was wide open space though, I was getting flashbacks in RD2 while riding from the ranch to Armadillo (the bit where you come down that slope) :D. Have a feeling it will be utilised a bit more for Online, its presence in the story is more of a nostalgia trip that adding any substantial or new

No, at least not while playing the story.
There are less enterable buildings than in RDR1 and less NPCs. And there's train tracks but no trains and no connection to the new map - which doesn't make any sense. The tracks either shouldn't be there or should still be under construction. I'm hoping they'll flesh it out a bit, but given that canonically you shouldn't there it's unlikely.

Story mode i think it is all blocked off, when the main story is over you can roam more and you can see them building stuff in Blackwater and Armadillo.
Also read the newspapers as it says about building rail bypasses away from tumbleweed and such which may lead to why it is a ghost town on RDR

I am just finished chapter 3, one thing I am actually getting sick of is how stupid the gang are!!!!

it is actually making the motives for the game a bit tedious because I cant gel with them as a group.

RDR1 was a good but simple concept, hunt down your well established older gang to save your family and in turn fight the g`men while your at it.
