Doesn't matter. Well I am only on chapter 3 but so far none of this games story seemed to follow RDR. Except for finding out how he got his scars.

That's because RDR is set about 11 years after RDR 2 timeline ;)

started off loving it, but after 15 hours off play, I am now bored stiff.. Have not played it all week... So much annoys me, finding a legendary animal and killing it only to get a 2 star skin, annoys the **** out of me, I think they tried to be too cute with the making of this game, I hope online is better than the last half arsed effort of red dead 1 online,

Have to call BS on that.... That's impossible! A legendary skin doesn't have stars.

The hunting system is complex broken down into animal size. For instance shooting a squirrel with a shotgun will obliterate the squirrel, but shooting it with a small game arrow and hitting it in the body (not getting a headshot) will ruin the carcass giving you a 2/1 star.

It's years since I played rd1 but you could nearly play rdr2 first.

My biggest annoyance at the minute is the hunting requests. They should have a fixed spawn. So annoying you see a Robin or what ever you need way above you and miss it because of the limited range of the weapons you are meant to kill it with having spent 40 minutes looking for one of the little ****s.

    Chapter V opinion:
They tried to make that Island be this games Mexico as a change of environment & when you come back they play a song over your return but it falls incredibly flat in comparison.
Chapter V was a bit short compared to the previous 4, onto chapter VI so I'm looking forward to breaking out John & looking into Edith Downes background.

I am enjoying it, probably not as much as I hoped but certainly am. The most striking thing for me is how unremarkable a character Arthur is, he's a lot less unique or likeable than John Marsden who I automatically think of when I think of the first game. I doubt I'll be recalling Arthur as much.

Got to chapter 4. Starting to concentrate on the missions now. Other than poker, some eejits playing it in game. Went all in on an ACE and a guy called me with 6 9. Of course A 6 9 flopped. Unperturbed went all in with 6 6 another guy called and hit a gut shot straight on the river. You can't flip a table in game unfortunately.

Had a strange 20 minute visit to Armadillo last night
There doesn't appear to be any reaction at all from the locals or lawmen to you shooting every single person in the town? :D They just run away shouting and hide. I circled the whole town 5 or 6 times shooting everything in sight and not once was a Wanted or Witness triggered

    Yeah, it's
totally lawless. You probably missed it but the local gang kill the sheriff on your way into the town. Van Horn on the far east of the map is lawless too.

It's an 8/10 for me. I definitely preferred the original, but I haven't played it in years and that's possibly only because of how I remember it.

Play it again and revisit your post after another pointless hour of herding cattle or driving Bonnie into town for no reason.

Both games can be very slow.

Interesting! I actually met the gang when I rode in first and killed them all, Sheriff said he was leaving town so I killed him too. Was wondering if that had something to do with it but apparently not :p Van Horn is an odd one though, didn't know about that.

Other people in Armadillo say that a plague has hit the town, hence why everywhere is shut and everyone is leaving. So the place is just nothing, really. Only really in the game as a throwback to the first one.

finished the game last night  **** that was some long epilogue

    spoilers and questions
Yes it was depressing, i had tb and that sucked. That whore stayed a whore in the end despite my help. This taught me to never help a whore in real life. I wonder now if go do a second play and just shoot that guy or dont do that mission would i not get tb.

I was hoping to play as Sadie at the end as i oddly felt more invested in her character as well as Arthur's, i think i got the good ending i read he has two depending on your actions in game. So i was going to do a second play and be a total prick.

I read a news paper as john and seen one of the girls from our camp had become a famous novelist and then she showed up in the end credits writing a book and i thought thing's like that were a great touch.

Over all i loved the game thought it was amazing, i only wish it kind of ended with Arthur the john stuff really dragged on i felt detracted from the experience even tho it leads directly into rdr1 the story through the credits was a great touch with the pinkerton's tracking him down. I feel like they are going to add rdr1 into this game as an update/dlc given the entire thing is on the map which is crazy and would be fun to replay it.

So it turns out the original read dead map is also part of the game and you can explore it as john, but can you also explore this as Arthur i never went down that way as him ? Oddly enough i dont feel compelled to play it now that i finished the story, it feel's a bit jarring to be john, for me anyway. Because i just dont feel like your gonna go run around killing **** and robbing people now with a ranch and all that there dam my morals !!

Nope you can't change the TB outcome regardless of what you do.

You will meet some of the old gang randomly in the after story world (Pearson is around Rhodes, Milly is around Saint Denis etc).

In terms of RDR 1 map, as another poster pointed out earlier, it's more a nostalgia thing than adding anything extra. There is barely anything to do down there :D Have a feeling it might play some part in online though given how expansive/empty it is.

As for getting down there with Arthur, you are wanted dead or alive in that region for the entire game so it's impossible to get anywhere down there without being shot to death in a couple of seconds.

The chapter 6 side quest for rains fall is worth doing , chat to him on the ride Arthur has dialogue choices that give some details from his past.

My Bounties got totally out of control. Ended up having to shell out over 500 dollars to clear all of them.

I got tired of being attacked and chased by bounty hunters, it's a real pain trying to lose them.

Other than that Arthur is doing well, heading out on 'Murder INC' (my horse) to rob a few homesteads tonight. Looking forward to the action.

My partner asked me last night when did I get a new horse. I thought I'd hopped on the wrong one again for something but I had all my guns, it turns out Roach hadn't been brushed in so long she'd turned from back to brown :D
