Does anybody notice that the police/lawmen don't help Arthur when he's in trouble.

I got attacked in St Denis by muggers who started shooting at me. I ran up to one of the blue coated policemen guys and he just stood there doing nothing as my three assailants were spraying the town centre with gunfire.

Meanwhile if I so much as say get outa of the way to an NPC I get a bounty on my head for public disorder.

Lawmen are designed to help you in some instances. I've seen videos where people were attacked and lawmen intervened. However, like many elements of the wanted system there are a lot of bugs.

I saw a guy hunting last night, seemed to be tracking a grizzly. I hopped off the horse and followed him, the bear charged but he got a few shots in him so the bear turned and ran then. I seen it keel over a short way away but when I went over I couldn't skin. It was actually still alive and I got some honour for putting it out of its misery!

I’m in Saint Denis now and I need to step away from the game for a bit as a lot of things about it are annoying me. The controls for one, I got stuck between 2 objects during a mission the other day and between Micah and Dutch shouting at me I nearly put the control through the wall.

Is it just me or does some of the dialogue/story feel rushed or not make sense?? I’m too tired now to think of examples but some of the dialogue doesn’t match the story at times

I met that guy but he never got near his gun... he got mauled.

Only read today that Roger Clark (the voice of Arthur) was raised in Ireland. Pretty cool.

Hah I must have saved him then as I fired a shot at the near on the charge too.

I'm going to try and get this finished tonight. I've wasted far too much time with the non story stuff, 100% can go swing. I've enjoyed the back end of the game a lot more than the first half and the side missions and strangers have been rewarding and add to arthur's story for the most part. Last thing I did was Sadies honor mission. Have to say she was the only one of the gang I liked.

    I kicked
Strauss out of the camp when I got the choice.

    Chapter 6/Ending/Early epilogue thoughts...
Poor Arthur. Fúck Dutch. Fúck Micah with a rusty spoon.

Mary Beth got away, thank God. They built her as too pure and innocent so I was waiting for her to get a brutal ending. Pearson too, oaf that he is.

I did get a little choked up on the final ride back to camp with "That's the way it is" playing.

Only two missions into the epilogue on the ranch and I've always liked John but I was hoping an epilogue would've let you play on as Sadie. But that's probably because I know where John's story goes from here. Sadie rocks.

One more thing, us Irish get the raw end of the deal in the RDR-verse. Sean gets half his head blown off. Molly was portrayed to be a rat when she never was and is gunned down because of it and Irish from the first game is a cowardly drunk. Throw us a bone, Rockstar.

Molly was a rat though. She told them about the bank robbery in Saint Denis, and that was before Micah started working with the Pinkertons (bank robbery was before they ended up in Guarma, and the main agent said Micah started working with them after they came back from Guarma). So Molly was responsible for Hosea and Lenny (LENNAY!) being killed and the bank robbery being foiled. But yeah, would have liked to have seen Sean stick around longer. Great character.

But Milton said they tried and failed to get information from Molly. So it's possible she lied about that because she was angry at Dutch. The gang is paranoid about rats from before the game even starts. Every time something goes wrong they start wondering if someone talked.

However, the question of who or if there was a rat was left fairly ambiguous. Even Micah never admits to it. Given that he hatches a (successful) plan to kill Cornwall (who funds the Pinkertons) after apparently ratting the gang out, he obviously saw it as a means to an end. Probably to get rid of Author and the women etc who he saw as a hindrance and get Dutch all to himself.

Prior to Guarma I don't think there was a rat. The gang was just sloppy and the time of outlaws had passed. The Pinkertons had been on their trail since Blackwater.

Oh sh*t, you're right. Just rewatched that scene on Youtube with Milton. Can't believe I missed that the first time. Fair enough then.

Curious now after finishing chapter 6 but not done the epilogue. What happens if you chose not to
kick strauss out of the camp
    or if you opted to
go after the money instead of with john
might replay that final bit from an earlier save.

Don't know what happens if you
don't kick Strauss out (I presume maybe he leaves of his own accord or something like most of the others did). EDIT: Actually, just read you kick him out of the camp regardless. Not sure how as I think I chose to kick him out too.
    If you opt to
go back for the money it pretty much all plays out the same way with Micah and Dutch but back where your camp was rather than on the hill/cliff. Few lines of dialogue changed to suit etc.

Very frustrated to hear that there's a controller vibration queue to notify you that stuff is near - I can't play with vibration in controllers as it causes me pretty severe pain after anywhere between 30 and 60 minutes of use depending on the game (something, funnily enough, that I developed after a monster session of GTA Vice City when it came out). The game should recognise that it's been switched off from a pure accessibility POV and provide a visual prompt on-screen or maybe even use the speaker on the PS4 controller to play an audio queue.

I have avoided doing those money lender missions after doing the first ones cause they made me feel like a real POS beating people up for money they didn't have. I don't care that I won't complete the entire game as a result. I felt ten times worse when
I ran into the widow of the man who died from TB or something in the first series of them and she was working as a whore on the streets of Saint Denis.
It was all a bit too real for me. Not unlike the torture mission in GTA V.

So you are fine with the hunting, skinning of animals, killing law officers, bar fights, etc but collecting debts from people is a step too far?

I play with vibration off too, didn't miss it. the eagle sense or what ever it's called shows you anything the vibration would alert you to.

As for the spoiler section you probably should have saw that through there were a few quests tied to that character later on.

Well first of all, all cops are bastards, so I can shoot them all day and all night :P :D

I'm definitely fine with the hunting and skinning of animals in a world that requires it to live (and that's very much the world the game is set in). I'm not opposed to ethical hunting and skinning animals in the 21st century either as long as it's being done for needs and not for sport.

I'm not suggesting the inclusion of the money lending missions is wrong or problematic, I'm saying I chose not to do them for personal reasons. I'm glad I was given the option to not have to do any more of them.

I didn't kick him out of camp (never finished the last money lending mission), but I remember either Charles or Sadie in the prologue mentioning that the Pinkertons had caught him and brutally tortured/murdered him. His body was found somewhere near Saint Dennis.

It's not your fault if these fools borrowed from a money lender. You have a job to do.

Yeah. Think of poor little Jack back in the camp. When did he last get a new toy? Or get to go on a holiday? Or what about Uncle. What with all that pain he suffers in his back. He needs a new mattress. And poor old Paterson. Stuck with only the most basic foodstuffs. Imagine what he could do with some new spices and condiments.

So stop feeling sorry for yourself and do your job. These people tried to steal from the gang, laughing at you so they are. Tell me Tilly doesn't want a better future. And Mary-Beth, the tortured soul simply wanting to express herself through writing.

tell the rest of the camp he had TB?
I don't recall when he did it.

I don't think he did specifically.
I think many of them realised he was sick (and maybe guessed at what it was themselves as I think TB was probably common enough at the time). He also told Agent Milton when he was rescuing Abigail and Sadie, so maybe they overheard it then and told the others.
