Main Campaign is supposed to be about 65 hrs or so long so its not a game I'm going to finish anytime soon.

I prefer the story mode to be as long as possible

Length is fine, but I hope it's not padding.

That has since been debunked by Rockstar.
    It's only 50GB

No hes right 88gb on Xbox 105gb ps4

Exactly what I was thinking. Video games shouldn't be a chore. Can they do a witcher 3 with a wild west storyline? I can't see myself sticking it out as much as I loved rdr1 and the wild west, 60hrs can't be anything but grinding I just don't see them filling it with a quality, gripping storyline.

I'd say you could easily put double that 65 hours up between trophies and online play.

A good lot will be padding in side quests and random missions you'll come across but the last RDR straddled a fine line between a very good campaign length as well as pretty engaging side quests and hunts fro animals and gun upgrades etc.

Not sure if it's been said already but it looks like SuperValu will be selling it for €50.

    Cheapest place I've seen yet.

It's the loot / upgrading mechanic that keeps me playing games. Invariably I'm rushing through campaign trying to get to the end game. I've played the Division campaign 5 fekn times at this stage to maximise the end game. Same with Destiny 1&2 with 3 play throughs a piece.

I like the sound of that and it releases on a bank holiday weekend too! :D

So what your saying is you'll be finished the campaign by Monday night :pac:

Not a hope (will probably be quite sleep deprived by then though :D).

I like to sit back and enjoy every minute of a Rockstar game, from the main story to just dicking about in the world including the side missions. Won't be in any rush to complete this!

in addition to the 700 voice actors, there are an additional 500 motion-capture actors, making for a cast of 1,200

Feck I sat through the end credits for Mafia III this weekend and it went on and on. RDR 2's will be never ending.

Disgusted to hear that to be honest. Alot of people will get very rich but you can be sure it's not the people putting in all the work and getting sick with stress. Makes me want to return the game before I've even played. Former R* employees do not speak kindly of the management in the company either.

I expected that alright.. but bear in mind, there seems to be a shorter supply of Xbox One copies than PS4 copies for recent releases (CoD, FIFA 19) in SV stores.

    2 quick things?

    1) Does this have any sort of digital preload? Getting in via PSN (so can use on 2 PS4s)
    2) Is it going to be available to either download or play at midnight on Friday morning?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,409 ✭✭✭✭gimli2112

I bought the digital download version. Haven't checked the timer but I assume I can pre-download it like everything else.

Anytime I've bought a digital game I have played it on the day of release. Think this is scheduled for 26th October.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,134 ✭✭✭correction

    1) Yes. It's usually available to download a couple days before release.

    2) Yes. If you buy from the Irish store it will unlock at 12am Thursday night/Friday morning.

Preload on PS4 starts 2 days before the games release, so it'll start downloading Wednesday midnight. The game will then be playable from midnight Friday (as in, Friday morning).

Is there any chance Smyths will price match SuperValu?

Nah, I doubt it.. I'd say they've got a healthy number of pre-orders as they'd the next best price until now.

Agreed. Shows a total lack of self-awareness.

He has since attempted to defuse it but a lot of ex-employees are saying he's full of sh*t essentially.
