The wife installed this for me and said she only needed disc 1. Is disc 2 for when I play the game? Thanks

I was out exploring and came across a house with a fat fella on the porch and his wife came out also and they were inviting me in for a meal and a drink of the finest stuff.

It turns out I was eating a person and they were brother and sister who were a couple and they tried to poison me with the drink as the screen went all funny colours and I was dizzy. They said have another and the prompt came up drink another but I said I best be on my way and high tailed it out of there.

Very much enjoying this but the combat is very poor, I think the more I play of it I'll be upgrading this to dreadful. It may not matter or I may just get used to it. I'm on a bit of a rage break following a 1v4 gunfight in a tiny room that went horribly wrong so I may just be emotional.

What is wrong with the combat?

The cover mechanic seems broken, a number of times I've hit R1 and jumped on top of instead of behind cover, takes me ages to get back in cover and the enemy AI can't his s**t. Running from cover to cover feels really awkward. At distance the auto aim just autolocks onto target, it's the exact opposite up close I'm all over the place with the pistols but this may just be me.
It doesn't seem as intuitive as TLOU/Uncharted and these didn't have great shooting mechanics. Something like the Division is a lot better (in terms of combat). Maybe I should try first person?

I'm really loving it but think this may become more of an issue the more I play.

Finally home and starting the long install now. Think it's time to high tail it out of the thread before anything else gets spoiled. Enjoy lads.

Anyone prefer John Martson to Arthur?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,939 ✭✭✭rizzla

Is there a play time counter anywhere? 17% complete but it seems to be going by really quick.

I think it's great. No interest in the main story, none of the characters are likeable. The side missions though are great. The interactions with the NPC's and the dynamic events that can happen on your travels are just fantastic.

So I've got a standard PS4 and xbox one S. There's no difference in digital price. So should I go with xbox or ps4?

    According to Digital Foundry, PS4.

However, if you prefer Xbox achievements and the controller, I’d probably choose whichever system you prefer.

Yea they ranked them One S - PS4 - PSPro - One X. The game is going to be good on all of them but it'll look and run best on X.

In that case I'll get the PS4 version. Prefer the PS4 controller. Best turn it on first. I haven't used it in about 6 months haha.

I think it's stored in the saddle, not the horse? So should be there when you get a new one (don't quote me on that though, haven't killed mine yet! :D)

1.6 Mb/s! I'll be back in work Tuesday without playing it at this rate. Cant watch netflix or youtube while I'm waiting or it will only make things worse!

I managed to watch most of a movie on the media player waiting for it to install.

I literally got a wanted level for walking into a person.

I then hid from the law but when I go back to the town I get shot up..

How would I get rid of the bounty?

What have people got their aim assist set to ? Not done a lot so far but shooting from cover feels off. Maybe just not clicked with me yet but just feels awkward

It's ruining the game for me... it's just so clunky and slow, I've gone from TR yesterday to this like.

While the movement and shooting are a bit janky, the world is so immersive I can get over such annoyances.

Go to a post office and pay it off (there's one on the way in to Valentine). And put your bandana up when you are doing dodgy stuff, much easier to escape the law once you get out of the search zone ;)

Just like in real life... you have to go to a Post Office.
