Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi there
We are taking a group walking to Glencree in June. We are looking for two levels of walks in the area. Level 1. 12 to 15km walks. Level 2. 7 to 10km walks. Preferably looped walks . All suggestions /advice welcome.

Here is a link to a 7km looped walk from Glencree. I know there was a much longer "glencree circuit" walk published in walking world ireland magazine a few years back, but i'd have to do a rummage back home to see if I still have the details.

Otherwise I would suggest posting in the Sports > Outdoors forum to get a better response.

Just be aware that the road from Enniskerry to Glencree is closed right at the German War Cemetery. There is pedestrian access to cross the bridge over the little river but no cars can pass.

I never knew there was a German war cemetery. I must visit it sometime.

A few other suggestions for glencree walks -
    1. http://europe.nxtbook.com/nxteu/athleticpromotions/wwi/index.php?startid=32#/36
    2. I'm sure it would be easy to walk from glencree to a vantage point over the lough brays and circuit the two lakes.

    Why is that?

The road collapsed, but no worries, it's now open again.
