Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

So should we make a start on the episode threads then?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,369 ✭✭✭✭Liam O

Given the end of episode 4 I'd be sceptical of this being a big publicity stunt as it has the only real cliffhanger ending of the 4.

  • Registered Users Posts: 650 ✭✭✭csallmighty

Is there going to be an episode 1-4 discussion thread any time soon? Lots to talk about.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,196 ✭✭✭PressRun

Would it be better to have separate threads for the different episodes rather than putting 1-4 in one thread since not everyone is going to be caught up at the same time? I'm sure there are people who are going to wait for the episodes to be shown on television who would also want to take part in the discussion.

I don't mind actually, I should have told you about the phone call that Cersei made at 4am to Daenarys while off her head on coke talking about being Jon Snows mother.

I've watched two of the new episodes. Absolutely no problems whatsoever with the quality. I don't understand why anyone would be complaining on that front.

After about five minutes it's not even an issue, I've seen the four episodes and the only thing that reminded me that I wasn't watchin them on tv was the banner that kept popping advertising the website. I can only imagine the people giving out about the quality are too young to remember video tapes..

Can a mod Verify whether we are allowed to discuss openly what happened in the 4 episodes ?

Start a thread with a warning in the title that the first four episodes will be discussed..

Should be 4 individual threads no?

Each episode will get a thread eventually, and people will catch up at various times.

I'd imagine anyone who saw the episodes would have seen all four but there's no way of knowing that. I'm mad to discuss them too but I don't mind waiting until they've aired to do so.

    i wonder who did it ? :)

    Find out in season 6

Could always throw up the 4 threads and anyone who has seen all 4 can discuss in thread 4 about what has happened if it applies to the series so far in general..

Makes more sense to do all 4 in one surely, anyone who downloads them will likely watch them all, anyone who wants to wait for better versions or watch them on TV can then start individual threads as each one airs?

I simply wouldn't have the time to binge watch all at once so will watch over the course of the next week or so.

I'd barely have time for even an hour of tv most nights so there would be no chance of me settling in for a marathon watch of 4 episodes.

Well just for the sake of the forum, we'd be duplicating conversations. By this time tomorrow there will be an episode 1 thread for example.

In any case, Im dying to discuss it! :D

It's not really a spoiler, more of a light observation but I'll spoiler tag it anyway. Littlefinger's
accent has shifted even more. He's become more Irish than even Aidan Gillen's own accent. If he drifts any further, he's going to sound like Darby O'Gill!

Why the fudge don't HBO just release the episodes online as PPV service? Something like 5-10 EUR an episode. 5 for SD, 10 for HD+.

It's an excellent series and IMHO I believe a lot of people would be happy to pay to watch it.

A season I think you mean. Similar to their own HBO Go service, only in America I believe however

Can't understand how some people are put off by by video quality, yet are happy to watch on Sky Atlantic with an ad break every 10 minutes.

Most will still download it in HD or record it so ads aren't an issue.

Record + fast forward on the ads

Torrenting is still better though since you have them forever

Never thought there were people that would refuse to watch something unless it was in full HD, but here they are, and all in one place.

I wonder how long before they refuse to watch anything in 1080p?
If there were 2160p or 4320p rips available, that were actually easily downloadable, then yes I would refuse to watch 1080p and instead watch the better quality. Why not?

I'm sure the quality of the leaked episodes is fine for most people. But the quality of a 3-6 GB 1080p file, watched on a 55" HDTV like mine, is incredible. I can wait, I can avoid spoilers, no big deal.

Sorry to burst the old bubble but most people have the same technology as you but just aren't willing to wait. I've enjoyed watching all these episodes today and I'll watch them all in 1080p when they've aired too.

Okay? Cool for you? Fantastic for you? I wasn't implying that others didn't have large TVs too, or have the technology to watch them in 1080p. I don't know why people are getting upset at my ability to wait for better quality. I always wait until the whole season airs anyways, so I can binge watch, like with The Walking Dead or any show. I'm not the only person who's waiting for 720p/1080p rips, and whatever the resolution, I would never watch something with a watermark anyways.

I also never watch DVDs anymore, only Blu-ray files. Don't shoot me!

What sort of statement is that? He just professed an interest in waiting as he prefers to watch in HD. Where is this 'bubble' coming from?

Why are you even on forums? You should be writing for HBO comedies with wit like that. The satire, the parody, glorious work. A 512" screen? It's funny because it's too big! Comedy gold.

Luckily, I enjoyed the storyline first time through. Second time in HD, I'll enjoy the spectacle.

The press pack only had the first 4 episodes. I wouldn't expect any further leaks.

^ This. The first four complement each other nicely - bit like the first movie in a trilogy. Any more and I would suspect it was a genuine leak. As it stands, HBO have generated enough online buzz to last about....eh, a month.

Yeah, people will be halfway through their sub for this month so wont be rushing to cancel and they might get a nice boost for next months subs when the 5th episode comes out. I'm definitely suspicious.

Yup, you're doing what I did this morning....watching The Good Wife on a breakfast of mushrooms.
If she turns into Jabba the Hutt and threatens to make you do things, go outdoors, take deep breathes and avoid traffic.
