newbie buying a boat..expert eye anyone?

    How new is the outboard? Big consideration in value is the state of the outboard... Old two strokes can be quite thirsty & all outboards expensive to repair or replace....

    guy says its recently serviced and in pretty good nick..the apolstrey in the cabin the the only thing he says can need tlc..
    to be honest i live on the shannon and it will be mostly used to fish from...just like the look of something you can sit in out of a shower from rather than an anglers open boat..

    The boat will be fine for your needs but as said all you are buying is the engine, if he doesn't have recites for the recent service "this years" I would be looking at getting one done and an impeller change other expenses you should be looking at are things like ropes,fenders, lifejackets, wheel bearings and a back up engine these can add a fair bit to the price of the boat.
