Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

ive had landsails too and thought they were great. I guess it's all about opinions

Honestly, it's more about knowing what you're talking about.

You know what they say about the opinions of a fool.

first hand experience or just spouting of more preconceived thoughts?

First hand experience. 2005 Avensis in the rain with landsails all round. Never again. They're fine for the aul lad going back and forward for the paper. I thought I had a puncture in the early morning M50 traffic the car was that skittish. No thanks.

not at all colm. I try to give a balanced and courteous argument to the debate of budget tyres but certain posters decide to give abuse instead.

    Baffling really

I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it.

I never heard of landsails before but I'm sure glad I read this thread. I need two new tyres and just compared what I was going to buy with two landsails. Just saved over 200 notes.

    Thanks power pants

    I owe ye a pint

We had landsails on a van. They were only 3 weeks old when we pulled them off and used them on the turf heap. Some amount of liftoff oversteer. My new car has cheap tyres on it and it's scary in the wet. My a3 had uniroyal rs3's. They didn't last long but at least I know I can rely on them when I really need them. Tyres could be the difference of a change of underpants and lying in a ditch somewhere. I will never skimp on tyres and brakes. All else is secondary.

    EDIT: whoops! missed that post

I wonder is it a silly sales ply, does he not understand the M branding or does he actually think it's a 3 litre m5 :)

The state of the outside is pure skang too, this black roof thing has to end too! It's tragic looking!

It's carbon fibre, it weighs less, lowers the centre of gravity. Improves performance and handling.

It's not meant to look good, it's purely functional.

    Oh...wait...

Oh but of course everyone knows putting a skin of wrap on a roof reduces the weight of the whole car by at least 30%

There are some nice white cars with black alloys out there but to be honest 90% of lads that try this colour scheme just can't pull it off and it ends up looking like a bucket of sh*te :pac:

Cos nothing says "dapper" like a snot green diesel Passat.

    Bloody hell.

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,152 ✭✭✭26000 Elephants

Color doesn't look too bad, and a couple of proper tuning bits in there.

I dont mind that too much at all.

( lose the fcukin 'dapper' sticker though, thats mank.)

A hybrid turbo and a remap and it has nearly double the standard power? I know there's a photo of a power reading but I'm still calling porkies unless there's a lot more done that he didn't bother to mention.

Ah sure yeah, its probably mostly in his head, but I mean that at least he has done something to the engine as opposed to staple-gunning a plastic spoiler to the roof!! ;)

In fairness I dont mind a "kitted" Passat but that one looks a a few different shades of green by the photos. I also hate the replacement radio, the original ones are perfectly fine!

Those cars are surely wrapped? Who in their right mind would allow a car leave the factory with those colours.

The passat would be wrapped but the Corsa would have been painted.

Considering he states that standard power is 115 which is wrong I'd assume his current power figure is wrong too but it should still make fairly good power with those 2 done

Do you seriously believe that he's done any of that work? I doubt it, more likely a stick on box from eBay.

A skangtastic 1.8 celica. Surely this has been on the thread before? But tbf it's probably worth basking in it's glory again.

This cropped up on a Facebook page and I couldn't help but share it. Not an overly Skangery motor as such, mainly just the visor that caught my eye. He's done well to fit the disc holder in there :p

That sunvisor is utterly ridiculous. I've driven cars with similar ones and it really is as bad as it looks to try and drive it. Utter idiocy!
