Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I have daffodils along the passage way into my house most are nearly dead at this stage just the green stems left. the weeds are starting to take over the least few weeks just wondering if I spray with gallop to kill the weeds will it affect the daffodil bulbs?

Yep. You need to leave the leaves alone and let them die back naturally. This is when the build up stores of energy and form next year's blooms within the bulb.

Agree 100% -- the biggest mistake people make with daffodils, crocus, tulips etc is to remove/cut/spray the foliage once the flowers have gone. This is the time they need to store up energy for next years flowers (a little feeding would help too). Yes, they look unsightly but its the price you have to pay for a display next year :)

Gallop even on the dry stems can be taken down into the bulb and can result in ugly looking flowers and foliage next year.

Much as I use glyphosate I wouldn't use it anywhere where there are bulbs.
