Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Price of a cup of coffee

    I was recently charged E6.50 for a cup of coffee (Americano) in a Dublin hotel
    Whats the average price of an cup of coffee in Dublin?
    Is there a more expensive place for a cup of coffee (regular/Americano etc) than the one I was charged and where?

    I once paid 19 euro for two coffees in the Hilton, but not in Ireland. By far the most I've ever paid for coffee. That was company money though.

    In fairness you can't compare a 5 star hotel (if it was) with a take-away cafe. I remember paying €6 in the Westin hotel a few years back for a coffee - insanely expensive but you are paying for the ambiance etc. It also did come in its own 3 cup cafetiere with 2 home made biscuits, some consolation I guess :D

    you're (in general) trading ambience and additional cash for a poorer product though, IMO anyway. Hotels won't have the same level of quality as a barista in a high volume cafe, nor the coffee turnover to keep it fresh enough to be at it's best.
