Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Visiting a friend who gardens but has not internet. Has a pyracantha coccinea red column. The leaves all brown but new one growing. There was some sort of green caterpillar on it about an inch long. Is that responsible. If anyone know would be obliged. She loves the garden

A caterpillar would only eat the odd leaf. Was it newly planted or an older plant?

Pyracantha do get a serious disease called fireblight but the fact it's resprouting means it's probably not that.

The mostly likely thing is that it dried out at some stage. Pyracantha are notorious for drying out as their top growth exceeds their root growth, especially in pots.

Vine weevil could be a problem too but again if it's resprouting I doubt that this is the issue either.

Keep it watered and give it a light feed to get it growing and established in its pot. New growth is always a good sign!
