Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back a page or two to re-sync the thread and this will then show latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

AirPlay Icon Missing!

Would any of you be able to help me with an issue that has come up regarding AirPlay.

I use Apple TV and and mirror it with my 2011 iMac, 2013 MacBook Air and iPhone 6. I'm running Mavericks on the iMac and Air and the latest update on the iPhone. The Airplay icon has gone missing from all devices (except the Apple TV) and no matter how much searching I've done I cannot find them. When I google for the answer I am coming up with similar issues but are a couple of years old and none of the fixes appear to work.
Could it be as simple as needing to update to Yosemite?

I would be grateful if any of you could point me in the right direction to solve this problem. Thank you in advance.

There seems to be a thread on Apple's site on the same issue (https://discussions.apple.com/thread/6989252), so far nothing interesting. They suggest trying out some basic troubleshooting which kinda is a bit lame but couldn't hurt- https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204291

    Still no joy :(

If it's stopped being recognised on all devices all of a sudden could it be that your apple tv is no longer connected to the same network as your other devices?

    Is Bonjour disabled ?

Just to troubleshoot try and install AirServer (http://www.airserver.com/Mac) on your iMac or Macbook Air and then see if you are able to Airplay from your iPhone to your Mac. This should at least help narrow down if it is an issue with the Apple TV or not

Brilliant! I turned on Bluetooth on the iPhone and the Mirror icon appeared, it also appeared on the iMac without me going near it. I then tried the Macbook Air, no icon, I then turned on Bluetooth, which I have never used before on the Air and the icon appeared there too. I then turned Bluetooth off on both the phone and MB Air and the Mirror icon is still there. I have tested all three devices with the Apple TV and everything is working again :)

Thanks a million Rambo and everyone else who responded. I will keep you posted over the next day or so and let you know how it goes.
