Hi, I was thinking of putting my vintage car on the road as a daily runner and was wondering is the car which is 30 years old exempt from the NCT? Also does the vintage tax apply to a car which will be a daily runner and how do you apply for this if so
    Thanks in advance

A car has to be registered before 1980 to be NCT exempt. Vintage tax applies once the car is 30 years old. It doesn't matter if the car is a daily driver or not, once it's taxed, it's taxed. Its classic insurance where that matters, most policies have limited mileage and require a primary car to be insured as well (not all policies though)

The proper insurance is attainable. Don't risk the cheap classic insurance if you're using it as a daily driver. Classic insurance has many limitations, although perfect if you wish to use it on occasion.

Proper full bells and whistles car insurance policy, are probably going to want some form of nct or engineers report on the road worthiness of the vehicle.
