    Hi,

In February I started to feel unstable like I had got off a boat but I was still moving, no room spinning just a funny off balance feeling and foggy head. GP thought it was Labyrinthitis and gave me Serc 16mg & Augmentin. Serc took the edge off it but it didn't go completely. Roll on March where I got very off balance and was brought into hospital had MRI on Brain & Neck all came back clear. Consultant then went back to what GP had said and thought it was Labyrinthitis was put onto Stugeron which made me feel really drowsy and more dizzy. Couldn't tell me when id stop feeling this way.

3 months down the line and nothing has changed have the same off balance feeling, tinnitus has gotten worse and the hearing in my left ear has dulled. Went back to GP today and felt like I was wasting their time as all I was told was keep taking the tablets. I look ok but don't feel it, I'm tired all the time can't socialise as i feel so bad, the sun, a lot of people talking and crowded places all seem to make it worse.

No one seems to understand the debilitating effect this has on someone as I've been told you don't look sick!! I would like to go to an ENT to see if anything else can be done as up until now I haven't seen one just GP and consultant in hospital but ENT wasn't his speciality. Does anyone know of an ENT in Dublin who specialises in this area? I just want to know this will get better and get some help from someone who understands, my life feels like its on hold.

I know what it's like, unfortunately. I've suffered for years, and at 3 months in it's definitely time to get a referral because the sooner you get a firm diagnosis and onto vestibular rehabilitation if you need it, the better.
    I'll PM you.

Ask your GP to refer you to an ENT specialist, my wife was the same about a year ago, and is still fairly bad, ENT guy reckons it's Meniere's disease, so you need to get checked by an expert to be sure.
