Much as I loathe the guy, Pepe is a wise choice for this type of fixture. Less likely to be bullied off the ball than Illar, Silva or Kroos. I'd have gone with Jese over Hernandez. Also gives Madrid a more solid defence.

Worth pointing out too that Ancellotti's Pepe is no where near as bad as Mourinho's was. So, he's not AS bad as before. Still bad though.

Fancy Aleti to draw the game overall and win on away goals.

Worst set of quarter final games I can remember. Only 1 goal so far between the 4 teams playing tonight over the 2 legs.
Last night's games were over as a contest before they got going.

Yes they do. Somebody on this very forum pointed out a couple months ago the amount of money they have spent over the last few years. The idea of them as a plucky underdog with homegrown players is a myth. They aren't Bilbao.

Chelsea's net spend was below Atleti's last season and there wouldn't be a massive difference over the last 3 years.
