I had an incident today i was coming out of a Garage which has a Sliding door i came from the right of the Sliding door at an acute angle

But as i went to exit the Door the Door had not opened completely and i lterally walked ito it with my face and my Nose taking the brunt,

At the time it was quite a Shock but no one came near me and then i asked for the manager who eventually came out , she said she would look at ctv and after a while came out and brought me in the back and kept saying the door was opening you didnt wait ,

i pressed her for an accident book or form to be filled in but she didnt want to know kept saying go to Garda go to Garda, i did say to her that the Door sensor obviously was not picking the person at that angle in time
i also pointed out to her that her time on the monitor was wrong

there was not even are you alright do you want a cup of tea
Just wondering what if any rights i have here ?

    thanks in advance :

Did the door fail to open or did you not wait for it to open?

If it was a fault with the door, pursue it.

If you didn't wait, be more patient and pay attention next time.

The sensor on sliding doors don't always pick people up coming at them from side on.

Keep your eyes open in future. Why does it have to be compo that comes into play first thing?:(

    Compo culture much?

You should be embarrassed that you failed to negotiate the automatic door instead of looking for compo.
I'm sure I could walk into 10 automatic doors each day if I didn't use abit of common sense and allow them to open before trying to walk through.

If something like that happened in my workplace it must be recorded and the persons details taken etc.

    ABC.. Always be covered..

It protects us from false claims months down the line (not saying OP is looking to claim)

    you walked into a door.

You are the hazard in this instance.

anything hurt (except for pride) ?

It would be at worst a non-recordable incident even in the most OHS conscious environment, and you would be 100% at fault.

The only way they can make it safer is to perma-ban you from the premises.

    watch where your going.
are you alright do you want a cup of tea
cup of tea????....... ffs gtfo dcb

"Just wondering what if any rights i have here"

Could you explain what you inferred by asking that question, please?

OP from the way you described it all, you can't blame people for thinking that you're out for compo.

Should it be written in an accident / incident book? Perhaps it should. In my workplace it would have been but only to cover our own arses. Rest assured tho, that cctv clip has been saved and been watched several times already. It's gonna be one of those moments you'll look back at later on and laugh yourself.

PS even tho it would have been noted in an incident book in my workplace, if you thought you could even get a cup of tea out of it you'd be laughed out the door.
