Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

The Mira Escape is a mains fed shower. You need a gravity fed shower. The elite is the only gravity fed electric shower that mira do.

Working on close to 1000 showers per year I have found Mira need to be repaired roughly 20% more often than triton.

Mira use a very cheap plastic in their showers. It becomes brittle & goes yellow after a few years.

Triton give a full 2 years parts and labour warranty on all their showers.
Mira only give a 12 month warranty with a lot of their showers.

In short triton outshine mira on electric & power showers.

Mira do a great dial on the wall & that's about it.

If you're old shower is a mira elite then it is a gravity fed shower. The water is taken from the storage tank in the attic. A gravity fed (tank fed) shower has a pump. The benefit of this is you have constant pressure.

Mains fed showers are taken from the rising mains water coming into the house. This type of shower doesn't have a pump. Because of this the pressure fluctuates. Mains fed showers are not suitable for most of Ireland as the pressure is so bad. In Dublin some homes with mains fed showers can only shower at certain times of the day. Off peek when demand in the estate is low.

    I know what that's like...

    Hi Guys.

I have a Mira Elite shower in my bathroom which as pointed out the plastic has turned yellow and the heat dial is fluctuating. At this stage i figure it needs replacing. Has been in operation for a number of years . Got an offer recently of a T80Z triton shower at reasonable money, should I go ahead and replace the Mira before it lets me down. Appreciate views. Thanks

Mira elite is tank fed and triton t80z is mains fed. You should be looking at the mira elite qt or better still triton t90sr. Both tank fed

95 percent of the time we can replace Mira showers with Triton showers. The 5 percent that we can't is down to the fact that some bad tilers don't fully tile behind showers.
