Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

The advice you have been given is wrong. The sets you have been recommended are the basic models in each of those manufacturers ranges and the reason why is that there are better models with better picture quality, sound quality etc.

Based on the info above I would not buy the Philips and go for the Sony model.
    - the Philips is not a Smart TV and may not last to give you the €200-300 value
    - pay a bit extra for the Sony and get Smart TV, better picture, better sound, USB record etc etc and a 5 year warranty in case anything goes faulty

The Samsung model is also good but if you are into sport you should really pay a bit more and get something like the Sony KDL50W829 or KDL50W815. http://www.harveynorman.ie/tvs-headphones/hd-tvs/sony-42-full-hd-3d-tv-kdl50w815bsu.html (€929 less €150 gift card) or even sacrifice screen size to get better picture quality and go for the 42" version.

Cheers. 600 to 700 is probably my max. What about this TV, was a best buy for this price range. 400 hz
