Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

The driving/ Top Gear bit seems to have taken up a hugely disproportionate bit of the show.

    Maybe.

Ah, boo! Thought it would go on for a decent while

    Proper Friday night entertainment.

Just switched on The Graham Norton Show and I thought the lad sitting beside Matk Whalberg was Jack L.

Kirstie Allsop was pulling pints earlier, but by the end she looked like she'd had a few herself. Good stuff. :D

    1. Story with Norton's beard?
    2. Lauper has not aged well at all

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 27,833 ✭✭✭✭ThisRegard

Even the awesome Norton line up has a lot of work to do to match that.

That was the best Friday night entertainment since, well, the 90s.

No, thanks. Okay, I'm not a bloke, but I used to like the show back in the day. This is Top Gear does Zany. Not for me.

Actually now I think of it , how the hell did this show become so popular in it'd original time slot ?

Guess all of us would have been 14/15 at the time and too young to be in a pub after work on a friday :p

Best tele of the year and UPC spoiled it...

Ahem, for many of us it was essential viewing before heading legally to pub. We're old now.

I loved it. Not everything worked perfectly but there was lots to enjoy.

Hope it returns in some form but it was a fine way to spend a Friday evening.

But it also had a late night repeat, sometimes with an exclusive sketch just for the late night viewers!

It's gas, when you look away from the TV you think Family Guy is on in the background. And my wife thinks Seth has had his forehead botoxed as it's wrinkle free compared to Walbergs or mine.

    i enjoyed it,

but even after all these years i just can't warm to Chris Evans, he comes across as an arrogant twat

This was my first time watching this show. In fact, I'd never heard of it before they announced it was coming back.

I thoroughly enjoyed it. Chaotic and so so funny. I really like Chris Evans. Really excellent TV.

A complete borefest and rather pointless if you ask me. I think Chris Evans had and still has talent and TFI was a great show at its peak but this was awful for me. The content was threadbare, there were no highlights whatsoever. It was a mixture of some old TFI best bits tacked together and them simply gathering round for the anniversary party. Not sure how anyone who liked the original liked tonight but lots of them proving me wrong on Twitter!

Loved it, please please let a new series be done, it was like the last 15 years or so never happened. I can't wait to see the viewing figures, it will be massive. Now if they could also bring back The Word with the stunning Dani Behr my life would be pretty much fullfilled, lotto wins no longer needed.

Are you one of those people who think Mock the Week is all off-the-cuff? :P

No, but even with that in mind I just can't see what others are seeing. I was too young to fully get into it in the 90s but I did watch a good few times and it was always ten times better than tonight, even watching it as a wee lad. I'm wondering just how much the nostalgia effect of it simply happening at all was at play tonight? Don't want to get people down, just my opinion and if it was able to match the 90s (updated for 2015 obviously) I'd be all for it - it would have to be with Evans though he makes it.

Same as. I was too young to go out after.

Was really looking forward to it last night and found it thoroughly enjoyable.
Surprised by how many bits I remembered.
