No pictures today, doesn't seem like she really got going at all today but did at least finish with a birdie 2 for a 68 and T3 overall, one shot back. Hopefully that's her "bad" round out of the way!

Sky sports broadcasting on their YouTube channel later on today.

She's in the hunt, didn't see her round yesterday but happy to see she has stayed in contention while not having her best stuff. Big day today for her, as you say hopefully that's the bad round out of her system

Another battling 68 but shes 4 shots off the pace now. All ahead of her put up 5,6,7 under par today. A lot of serious talent ahead of her now. Will take a big round tomorrow to have a chance

  • Registered Users Posts: 13,023 ✭✭✭✭Joe_ Public

Realistically probably need another 62 to have any chance of victory. Capable of it anyway.

Big day for Stephanie Meadow too, see she's currently 99th on the projected globe standings and needs to be inside top 100 to retain her card. Only made the cut by a single stroke.

    Very disappointing from Leona

That's incredible what I've just witnessed there from both Korda and Thompson. Shocking stuff.

Didnt fancy Lexi for that at all. 4 way play off, last hour of this has been bonkers.

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,587 ✭✭✭Speak Now

Lexi blows it after it being handed to her 17, Nelly can't believe she gets a playoff after her triple not to mention Ko and Young Kim.

    Leona 62-68-68-75

Stephanie looks to have moved up one spot to claim 100th spot and keep her card for next year by 2 points 😀

Kupcho shot 77 after starting at -15.

Strange strange day and not done yet with the 4 way play off.

    Unbelievable, Nelly wins.

  • Registered Users Posts: 13,023 ✭✭✭✭Joe_ Public

That was fun. Best golfer won in the end but, boy, were there some bumps along the way! Lexi's putting always going to be a massive crutch when you get down to business end of these tournaments.

Leona 5 under thru 11 , making up a lot of ground lost yesterday.3 back now

Some Rookie season from Leona, the stats speak for themselves. Her target should be for top 20 in 2022, after the jump she has made this year it's not too big a goal to give herself. I expect her to come on with the experience this year in the tournaments she plays in future. The confidence she will have gained can only be good for her. Great to have the Tri color on the leaderboard 🇮🇪

I would imagine she'll be setting her goals higher next year than Top 20. She's Top 10 material easily. Just (ironically) needs to get more focused in the final round and especially the start of the final round.

  • Registered Users Posts: 257 ✭✭eireyiddo

Considering the wealth of talent in top 10 is and she was outside of the top 300 before 2021 I think top 20 is more realistic. The top 10 is unachievable IMO. I hope I stand corrected

Leona is on the No Laying Up podcast this week. Should be out tomorrow.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,618 ✭✭✭willabur

Its already out - will give it a spin later.

gave it a spin, she came across very well. Seems to be more relaxed in these kind of situations.

  • Registered Users Posts: 652 ✭✭✭mjsc1970

Yeah seems to be the way. Was a good listen

  • Registered Users Posts: 316 ✭✭Scrabbel

One off T10th gives her every chance of a Top 10 start to the year. That’d be very encouraging.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,008 ✭✭✭paulos53

Off to a great start this week. Leona birdied 5 of the last 6 holes to finish -6 for the round. That is 1 off the lead with the morning starters nearly all finished their rounds

All eyes currently on Seamus Power right now, but worth mentioning that Leona is currently tied for the lead halfway through her round in this week's LPGA event. Would be incredible if there were two Irish winners on the same weekend.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,008 ✭✭✭paulos53

    Just birdied 11 & 12 to take a 1 shot lead

  • Registered Users Posts: 316 ✭✭Scrabbel

Take this moment in. Who knows when we might have Irish players leading the PGA and LPGA events simultaneously again after this week.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,008 ✭✭✭paulos53

Another tap in birdie on 13

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,008 ✭✭✭paulos53

This is a 54 hole event so tomorrow will be a big day.

Hope tomorrow can be the day. Definitely her best chance yet anyway. Can't wait.
