Control Center

I've noticed that Control Center (sic) swipes up, but doesn't swipe down any more. Instead of swiping down now, I have to tap the down arrow above the Bluetooth symbol. It's obviously only a very minor inconvenience (I had got used to swiping down!). I presume it's a bug in iOS 8.3. Anyone else experiencing it?

You need to swipe down from above the panel. Afaik it was always this way. Notification Centre is the same.

I know. It worked fine until I upgraded to iOS 8.3. It doesn't work on my phone anymore for whatever reason.

You can still swipe, but it needs to start from anywhere above the line of symbols that includes Bluetooth.

No, you're missing the point. I can summon Control Centre as I always did with a swipe up, but I can't dismiss it with a swipe down, from anywhere on the screen - that just doesn't work anymore. That's my whole point.

Yes, I see the difference, but suspect that it was intentionally changed to only swipe down from above the symbols because people complained that they were unintentionally closing the Control Centre when they went to tap a symbol, but accidentally made a slight downward stroke. (Happened to me the odd time - annoying, as you are usually in a hurry when you tap with a slight stroke, and doubly annoying as you then had to re-open the Control Centre)

Either way, it's something new to get used to...

I think it's a well thought out improvement as it prevents people who were trying to select an item from accidentally closing control centre as many people select items with a combined tap/swipe motion.

Turns out it was an issue with my phone. One hard reset later and it's fixed.
