Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

So much criticism of Balotelli's movement here on Setanta, they'll give out about anything.

Its the most movement ive seen out of him since he joined the club

He's an easy target for commentators and something to talk about. Even when he tracks back and closes down he's in the wrong

You just know that after all this pressure and probing, West Brom will grab a goal after a stupid mistake by someone(Gerrard or Johnson)

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 2,839 ✭✭✭Caovyn Lineah

    That is idiotic by Sterling

Mario actually works, obviously not as much as Suarez would (very few players are like him) but he's definitely trying.

He's a scapegoat. The media love ripping into him which is a disgrace really.

There was a game there recently were a player went straight through the back of him and the pundits just started laughing. If the roles were reversed the pundits would be calling for a his head.

Someone from the club should really stand up for Mario and put and end to this nonsense.

Great from Mario.. Now let him take the free.

He has been poor but he does get far too much undeserved criticism

Rodgers has been as culpable as anyone of this at times. Obviously he knows a lot more than us about what's going on, but still seems excessive.

    Rodgers looking very relaxed today.

    Heart in mouth stuff there

So we're stuck resorting to 30 yard shots already?

Lack of penetration up front really obvious yet again.

Ah, a large helping of mid-table mediocrity.

    Awful drivel so far.

What's even funnier is he's a Leeds fan I find that the most amusing of all.

Sterling with a few good touches, then a few poor touches.

Id love to do ' The Trip' with Mario Balotelli. Im not sure how good his Michael Caine impression is mind you.

5th is mid-table now is it? When was the Premier League reduced to 10 teams and why did no one tell me?

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 2,839 ✭✭✭Caovyn Lineah

We need to get someone else up top with Mario, he is dropping very deep sometimes and leaving nobody up front at all.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 40,061 ✭✭✭✭Harry Palmr

    Anyone? *cough*

It is an awful game though.

A typical Pulis performance from West Brom, if we get in once it will leave a lot more gaps at the back.

Would Liverpool be happy with a point?

There's a whiff of 'not-arsed' off this game.

Put them back into fifth for the Europa?

That's why Balotelli shouldn't get to take free kicks

Would Arsenal be happy with a point tomorrow?

Probably since they have never beaten Mourinho.

What this lacks in intelligence it makes up for in subtlety.

Ya but the season starts in July if you come seventh with a few more games.

This team needs a Salif Diao.

This post is bang on the money. The thing I take issue with regards Balo is his movement as the lone striker. He needs someone close to him as he just has no idea how to play that lone striker role today. So frustrating watching him today and it is like a microcosm of his time at Liverpool. Always coming towards the ball looking for interchanges and give and gos. You would love to see him making penetrating runs behind and back the player on the ball to find him ala Torres but he just doesn't seem to have that in his locker at all.

So instead of playing in a prestigious friendly tournament in the states or Australia we will play actual meaningful games.

Ballotelli hasn't been too bad but he offers absolutely zero movement up front. Just stands there most of the time looking at whoever has the ball.

Exactly. He isnt suited to the lone striker role and is actually playing well when it comes to pressing defenders but when he drops deep to do so, nobody is left up front.

Yet Rodgers keeps playing him on his own up front...It's idiotic tbh.

It's all a bit aimless. I don't see a plan to break down this west brom team.

    Pull of Balotelli's shirt there
