Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Play to the whistle..

Today has shown us why this defence needs ro be scrapped, near enough.

That should be he nail in the coffin for Valencia at RB.

Very poor from de Gea there, made it so easy for Mirallas.

United lucky that the UEFA coefficient won't effect the champs league places this year.

At fault for 3 goals but is he still no the problem will?

I agree with you. It went right over his head. He has to be interfering with play for me.

Wow, United taken to school on that one

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,150 ✭✭✭✭LuckyGent88

Surely that should be given as offside. Ball was clearly for lukaku and he went for the ball.

Anyway, poor from valencia to just stop. Nice finish and well deserved win for Everton. All the possession and get fcuk all once again.

Didn't realise the season ended today.

Lukaku could have been chatting to De Gea on the goal line - if he doesn't interfere he isn't offside

It's why linesmen nearly always wait to touch the ball before the flag goes up

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,616 ✭✭✭✭Sand

I dont think that counts, once lukaku doesnt interfere hes fine i think.

Yep, the definition is tricky but I remember United benefited earlier this season from a similarly generous interpretation. Rooney not being considered offside even though his presence definitely threw the keeper off as he was expecting Rooney to finish.

What was De Gea doing. Shocking keeping.

One of those games where United never look like they're going to test the keeper. All that possession, and Howard won't need to wash his jersey

I suppose if united dont hear the whistle they have to defend against him and that make him interfering with play automatically cos hes so close? I think he has to touch it though?

Worst performance across the board in a long time.

Van Gaal will get the whip out after this

    50 lashes for Valencia

Lukaku does interfere though in that the ball was to him and he left it, same way a dummy would be an interference. Rooney got out of the way of a shot if I remember correctly. The ball was never out of the keepers sight.

A fault for last goal. Not the first two

They see the flag go up though. Hard not to stop.

I think he didn't mark right for the 2nd goal

I'd tend to agree, but it doesn't change the fact you play to the whistle.

United behind a 'useless' City team. Funny old game.

Why is a fullback picking up a centre half from a corner???. I blame Van Gaal for that 1

His man from corner. who he stood behind

And as said already he is the cover from corners you dont try win the ball and leave the team outnumbered at the back you stand em up slow the attack

Lol sometimes you have to pick up taller men his positioning and general lack of marking his man was the problem

Sort a rb. Intelligent dm and an established centre half and we will be fine.

    Shocking defending all day

Not a United game unless there's a wondersave from De Gea.

Great effort from Mirallas and a great save by De Gea

Also, we massively miss Carrick in games like this. He is really effective against a team set up to counter

He would have won the ball if he wasn't pushed. Surely you could see that

It can never be doubted how much of a loss Michael Carrick is to this United team when he's not playing

Hardly a wonder save now. He saw it the whole way.

What's the point in having Falcao and having him come back for the ball all the time. It'd be like playing Aguero or Diego Costa and never giving them the ball in forward positions.

We are just a shadow of ourselves without him.

Valencia is 6ft and Stones is 6ft 2. Hardly David and Goliath.
