PINKMAN present the most extraordinary double bill to take the stage of The Grand Social, Dublin on May 16th.
Wozniak, the new stars of shoegaze, which emerged in the UK in the late 1980s, pioneered by bands such as My Bloody Valentine and Lush, will share the stage with local heroes Makings, who have just signed aWorldwide distribution deal and are about to go on tour with theirdebut album ‘Cognition’, made with the help of Grammy award-winning producer and mixer - Chris Potter.

    WOZNIAK

The May 16th show in The Grand Social, Dublin, will see WOZNIAK’s
    debut performance on Irish soil.

Hailing from Edinburgh, Wozniak have a reputation for creating complex,
layered and powerful sound, which Scotland on Sunday describes as
‘cinematic’ and ‘passionate’, while comparing the band to Jesus and Mary
    Chain and Twilight Sad.

Their crowdfunded, both critically and publically acclaimed ‘Pikes Peak’
EP is currently on its second run. The first sold out in just a month.

The band, who have been playing extensively across Scotland, made their
London debut to a packed out Sebright Arms in February 2015. ‘Echoes and
Dust’ said of that performance: “These guys are the real deal (..) Fusing
powerful shoegaze with elements of psych and post-punk into a head and
    exciting brew.”

Wozniak have got off to a busy start in 2015, featuring on two
international shoegaze compilations. Their new EP put together under the
eye of Craig Ross from Scotland’s indie stalwarts Broken Records, is due to
    come out this Summer.

    MAKINGS

From the set to the stage, musician/actor Rick Burn ('Game of Thrones', 'Vikings', 'Penny Dreadful') has his artistic
plate full, as he also fronts the exciting new electro-rock band MAKINGS.

The band’s recent collaboration with producer/mixer Chris
Potter (Blur, U2, The Rolling Stones) resulted in their debut album
‘Cognition’, which Mail On Sunday has scored 4/5, also describing track no.
2 'Heart Attack' as an"Instant Hit". ‘Heart Attack’ has also already enjoyed airplay on
TXFM, RTE 2FM, RTE2XM, Sunshine 106.8 and on Amazing Radio in Scotland. The
band have recently released a music video for the second track from the
    album - 'Man on Fire'.

"They remind me of The Killers and U2. A very promising band with a sound
that's destined for the stadium" - says Jim Gellatly ( XFM Scotland), who
is credited to be the first DJ to play KT Tunstall, Glasvegas and Biffy
    Clyro.

The Grand Social show on May 16th opens the Makings ‘Cognition’ Tour of
Ireland & UK. Meanwhile, ‘Cognition’ is set to appear on the shelves of
music stores Worldwide in June 2015.
