But, am looking to opt for night saver as well.
    Can you guide me please?
I currently dont have the night meter installed.
Do i sign up with you guys and then order the night meter installation
or viceversa? Also is there any other better plans for customers optiong night saver?
Is there any cost involved for installing the night meter?
    Thanks

    Hi peaceboi,

Thank you for your interest in switching to Electric Ireland. You would be able to view our price plans online. The ValueSaver price plan is also available for customers with Night Storage or Dual Tariff meters. You would need to be registered with us before we could arrange for a new meter to be fitted.

There are two types of meters that allow you to be charged a cheaper rate for night usage. Do you know if you are looking at Night Storage Heater meter or a Dual Tariff meter? The Night Storage Heater meter means a new meter is installed just for storage heating only and the cheaper rate would apply only to storage heating. Everything else would work off the your current meter, while the Dual Tariff meter would replace your existing meter and everything you use during the night hours (11pm to 8am in winter and midnight to 9am in summer) would be charged at the lower rate. The cost would depend on which meter you are looking at getting installed. If you let us know which meter you wish to install, we can advise you further.

    Regards,
    Aoife

    Hi peaceboi,

If you click on the green switch button on this webpage and follow the instructions you will be able to register.

Regarding your question about the charge of a Dual Tariff meter, there would be no cost to exchange a Single Tariff meter for a Dual Tariff meter for the first time. Any other exchange (including exchanging back to standard) would incur a charge of €171. Therefore, if you are not the owner of the property, we will need verbal or written consent from the owner. The benefit of the Dual Tariff is that everything that you use during the night hours would be at half price (0.0876 cent). It is important to remember that your standing charge will increase and the day unit price would also be higher than the standard 24 hour unit price (from 0.1659 to 0.1772 cent).

    Regards,
    Aoife
