Is it possible to get a telephone line installed into a house without having it live and thus avoiding the monthly line fee? Its for a house that's being renovated and would like to know if it's possible to have a telephone line installed into the property but disconnected and ready so that a tenant can connect it they need it.

    Hi Sully

I'm afraid not, the installation of a land line from eircom carries a 12 month contract for line rental (which at any time can be bundles with a call/broadband plan). If a line was installed and then ceased the charge of €107.43 ex vat for installation would be charged on the closing bill including an early contract cancellation fee of 12 months x the line rental charge of 20.96 (€251.52).

    Thanks
    Al
