Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    A lot of the 'enamels' that are advertised nowadays (especially if they're listed for Industrial use) can take months, even years, to dry without the proper Thinners.
    You can get cellulose delivered to your door at very reasonable rates. It will spray fairly well and can be sanded & compounded to give a decent finish.
    Have a look here for colours;
    http://stores.ebay.co.uk/Car-Workshop-consumables/Other-/_i.html?_nkw=cellulose&submit=Search&_fsub=1&_sid=822926805
    They have a huge range of colours, this link is just to get you into their ebay shop

    ...and either order from there (using Parcel Motel) or google 'Wilson , Lendrum and Weir' for their N. Ireland landline and AFAIK they are still sending paint down South by courier.
    Vinny Byrne (online again) for all your Thinners, Fillers, Compound etc.

    Also, put a bit of Thinners an a rag and wipe the existing paint. If the rag turns yellow (in your case) then you are not dealing with existing Enamel and Cellulose should go on without any problem.

    Thanks for all that . parcel motel is the business isn't it . Started using it lately .
    Roughly how much paint to cover a pajero . ? Cheers

    Sprayed my bumper recently using cans. I'd have been very happy with the result other than the colour was not 100%. I sanded alot.

    From watching youtube the main paint used by body shops ect seems to be 2 part polyurethane paint. The paint and the hardener. Is that not legal here?

    edit:
    I'd advise not spraying outdoors, as imo even on a very calm day 80% of your paint will float off into the atmosphere. And even in cans it's expensive.

    I'd be looking for a special offer on 5lt of cellulose. You'll use most of that, especially if it's your first go at spraying.

    are you serious about rolling. you mean with a paint roller like painting walls?????

    I recently painted a boat, using rollers and 2 pack marine paint. The choice of roller is important and I would stay away from foam or sponge rollers as the paint will soften and deform the rollers. I've included some pics of the rollers I used and they were very good. Solid enough to withstand "working" the paint. A light sand with very fine paper between coats, two in total and the finish is very good.

    I wouldn't go with this method for a factory finish on a car but for your jeep it would be very acceptable. The final coat can be rubbed down a little with a rubbing compound and then buffed if required, helping to eliminate and "orange peel" effect.
