Support the team including the manager while they are the manager

Bet you loved Hodgson. Would have been a great time to play the superfan game.

Meanwhile, Rodgers' side are losing 1-0 to Hull.

But how can you criticise the team if you're not watching the match? Makes no sense to me.

I didnt love Roy at any stage of his tenure but I didnt slag him off either because he was the manager. Me slagging him only disrespects the club, it does not change the man in charge

The dreaded nothing to play for end of season bug has set in it seems, shocking stuff.

We'll be lucky to get £50 for Sterling let alone £50m the way he has played over the last couple of months.

His age is the reason for his form. Remember Ronaldo (not saying Sterling will become half as good but using an example) at that age? Hardly consistent

Players dont start getting consistent until their mid 20's

Nope since I'm not watching the game (and you are making stuff up again) but i will continue my campaign to sack the clueless buffoon in charge.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 27,349 ✭✭✭✭super_furry

Well I'm happy to slag off Rodgers because he's appearing more and more clueless while the football on the pitch gets more and more hopeless.

Not sure I even have it in me to watch another 45 minutes of that muck.

It's got the feel of Rafa's and Kenny's final league games imo.

No i didnt, i asked if you would come along later to criticise this performance. I didnt imply anything.

Course they will. Its the modern day "fan"

Watch somethings when the team are doing well and pretend to actually feel for the team. But when the going gets tough the weak just leave. All they do is moan and whinge about the team just because things are going bad. Blaming everyone for something that they dont even care about.

In the last 3 years I think I have missed 2 games. One was for a wedding where I watched commentary on my phone and the other was a funeral in the middle of nowhere with no coverage.

When I think some of the crap some of our so called fans spout about Rafa (a Champions league winner and runner up in his first 3 years at the club). Just ask Arsenal fans what they would give for a champions league trophy

Have to agree and you could throw in Hodgson's few months into that as well no passion no pride no ideas just inevitability of the end.

Christ, lads, take it to PM!

Unlucky at the end, wondering how any one of 5 players managed NOT to put the ball in the net.

In situations like this the players take back a lot of control over the fortunes of the club. If they have an interest in Rodgers has manager they can dig in this half and for the remaining games. They hold the cards...

2 assists and 2 goals tonight for Suarez which I think brings his stats for Barca to 21 goals and 13 assists in 31 games. Not hard to see the main difference from last season.

    :(

How many of these players are out the door in the summer though?

Johnson? Balotelli? Sterling? Why would they give a ****?

Its a striker and goalscorer we are missing that would transform the side.

Rafa had a prime Torres and Gerrard. Kenny had Suarez.

We're learning nothing we didn't already know.

There's the usual shower getting digs in but we haven't even played particularly badly. Our squad just carries no goal threat.

We could play no better but have some non-useless players in front of goal, score a couple and then people are talking about the quintessential tricky away performance.

It's been the same all season. Tactics, individual performances and most of everything else we moan about comes out in the wash over the course of the season. It's all about the players you have available and we haven't had anyone all season who's even a competent goal scorer.

I'm absolutely sickened watching this match. Thing is, this is not a one off - we have been generally brutal all season. This, after spending 100 million on players, is unforgiveable.

And we still can't defend for **** and we always choke in the crunch games. I think I've nearly had it with Rodgers. I don't know if we could afford to trust him with another season.

    Cant defend?
Our goalkeeper has kept the most clean sheets of any keeper in the league.

Who spent £100m last year? Why is the team filled with players on their way out the door?? Who picked them??

What a difference a player makes a player who would run himself into the ground for the intro game and inspire the players around him to do them same.

That's what we are missing this season on the pitch.

What would calling it **** accomplish? Who's performed badly?

Rodgers is largely getting what he can from this team and the players are pretty much doing what they can.

The players have played with tempo, they've tried to get forward, they've got stuck in in midfield.

You can't get blood from a stone.

Calling this team out for these performances is easy from your couch but if you're actually working with these people and you throw the work they're putting in back in their faces because of something they have no control over, how will that improve matters?

Henderson, Skrtel, Ibe, Coutinho, Mingolet and Can (probably) you'd hold on to from tonight's line up. Bin the rest.

I feel like a teacher correcting a silly little boy. Ridiculous statements about half the team being out the door, after Rodgers spent over £100m last summer alone, shows how much he's failed.

Edit: nice sidestep of the pertinent questions though

    Big time.

Suarez scored 31 goals and assisted 13 in the league last season.

3 goals shy of our total this season.

Half the team? I mentioned 3 players.

    11 / 2 does not make 3.

Rodgers did not sign 2 of the 3 players i mentioned.

    Correct yourself ''silly little boy''

You mentioned 3 by name, but your opening statement was "How many of these are out the door in the summer?"

Edit: Again, no answers to my questions. He spent £100m last season, over £200m in total, and the first 11 still has players that'll be leaving. Lallana, Lambert and Markovic only getting 30 mins.

Could you imagine Suarez going to the manager and saying "Boss" I have a cold (Balotelli) "Boss" I'm feeling my hamstring (Sturridge) I can't play!

Suarez was our viagra. We now can't get it up and are trying in vain to thumb it in instead of addressing the problem properly.

None of the other players on the pitch will be leaving.

Yep, 7th best in the league this season.
