This came out of nowhere. DiRT Rally is now up on Steam Early access. As the name suggests, its the latest DiRT game (after DiRT 3), minus all the bells and whistles, and focuses directly at rallying only.

I will probably wait for reviews but my one true love for the Colin McRae series is really, I don't care for the rest. So I'll be keeping my eye on this.

Does it have proper length tracks, or are we stuck with 2-3 minute ones?

I miss the days of World Rally Championship (2000 i think), with it's 20 minute long courses. One mistake after 19 minutes and it's game over. It was brilliant.

Just saw some video's...this looks excellent. It's actually a sim, rather than their usual arcade type game. Looks excellent.

That was a great rally game amazing graphics for its time but the best of the lot is Richard Burns Rally, there hasnt been any decent rally sim since then.

Would love to see a good rally game. Loved playing Richard burns but it's way too dated to stick with a this point.

Yeah I remember picking up Richard Burns Rally in a bargain bin years ago and not knowing anything about it. Could not believe I'd accidentally bought the best rally game to date. Would love something new along the same lines. Codemasters move away from traditional rallying in the last few years has been a pity.
