Back to business this evening with a visit to St.Johnstone, the first game of a very crucial run of 3 away games.

It doesn't have to be pretty, 3 points and no injuries please gentlemen

    Team for this evening:

Great start, keep this up and we'll have the game won by HT

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,337 ✭✭✭rockatansky

We could be 5 up here.

Not really sure if St.Johnstone have done their homework for this game, they're completely sitting off and letting us play our own game.

2 nil now thanks to Forrest who actually looks like an adult with the beard

Taylor looks a really good player. Best performance in a good while. Get Kilmala some game time tonight hopefully.

Jozo off injured yet again. Seriously need a new centre half before the window closes.

Will Rodgers loan Benkovic back to us?

Benkovic is a bit prone to injuries too but yeah need some cover there. Not sure why we're supposed to be offering Jozo a new deal, he hasn't lived up to his potential and far too many injuries

Lenny absolutely fuming telling MJ to eff off!

Was Johnston injured and refused to come off?

Was Johnston injured and refused to come off?

I don't think I would say refused but he seemed to be telling the Physio that he was ok and could come back on so we went ahead and made the sub with Klimala and then 5 minutes later Johnson says he has to come off so I think that is what it was about. Plus the initial suggestions today look like it could be a bad knee injury which would be such a massive blow given he is only back from injury a few weeks now.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,781 ✭✭✭eire4

Excellent performance and especially devastating first half hour or so is as well as we have played in a while. Could easily have been 5 or 6 by half time. Excellent performance from Greg Taylor his best yet in a Celtic jersey so hopefully we see more of that from him. Forrest was back to his best and another step forward for Griffiths who played well again.

Again, Lennon falls into the old Martin O'Neill mode with regards to subs. Klimala should have been on at HT and certainly should have come on instead of Johnston when Griffiths was subbed. He eventually got 12 or 13 minutes of game time during a game we were well on top after 27 minutes

Could do with a CB & RW in today but not expecting much. Reports of Wanyama coming, would be surprised but delighted if that happens

The Lawell out nonsense going again. ****ing hell

We need a centre half. An injury to Jullien or Ajer and we’ll be in bother in that position.

This will be negligent on the part of the board if this isn’t addressed this evening ( and it’s looking like it won’t be).

Even without an injury to those two we're in bother in that position. We've taken to playing 3 at the back and we only have 2 fit centre backs, yet people will still try to say there's nothing wrong at all and the club is being run brilliantly.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,329 ✭✭✭RoryMac

Very risky by the board not to bring some experience & quality in during this window, if we get some of the injured players back soon we'll win the league but the flip side is any further injuries will leave us really struggling.

We didn't look to have any real plan for signings in the summer or winter windows, signed 4 RB's in the summer, left short up front until Griffs return a few weeks ago, no backup for Forrest. Bit of a mess

A club which has won 8 consecutive titles and 3 consecutive trebles under a host of different managers on a shoestring budget is a club being run brilliantly

Very concerning alright, as evident on Wednesday when Jozo was taken off and Brown was moved back.

Lawwell is living in hope that we scrape the league with little or no further investment when it's clearly needed. Lennon is never going to question this so will continue to tow the party line.

Yet a club that was only formed a few years ago with a fraction of our budget has been allowed within a potential 2 points of us. We're only one dodgy game on a plastic pitch away from being level.

Invest 15 million in the squad, still have 20 mil in the bank, take the league and champions league position for the next 2 years and watch as the bank balance builds back up.

Ki and Wanyama back in the Celtic midfield. Good memories.

Another 2 points dropped from Rangers. Will take that. A win tomorrow would be big.

James on Talk Celtic with an absolute peach...

“Rangers fans expecting a guy to be a match winner for them just because of his father’s achievements.

That’s a lot of pressure on Andrew Dallas.”

    Hahaha!!!!

    A massive game today.

352 and relentlessly go for the jugular from the start.

A 7 point lead would round off the weekend nicely!

Imagine going 7 points clear for 9 consecutive titles with a piss poor squad that isnt good enough every aug/jan...

I see Welsh is starting today, never saw him, good chance to blood him in though.

1-1 Not the greatest first half with Accies taking the lead.

Edouard free kick into what nearly was an open goal thanks to some dodgy positioning by their keeper.

Forrest absent today, hopefully Lennon switches things up and brings on Christie.

Edouard free kick (correct call from the ref on the sending off in my view). Up to that point, Celtic were woeful

Griffiths should have put us 2-1 up, terrible miss

    Edit
Great free kick from Griffiths which the keeper tips onto the crossbar

Great work from Edouard after he inexplicably missed for his hat-trick a minute earlier

In fairness to Hamilton, they gave us a real game for 75 minutes. They defended the box excellently and you could see our frustration growing with the number of blocked shots we had.

Can't wait for Motherwell on Wednesday now, it's going to be a tough battle.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,329 ✭✭✭RoryMac

Good win in the end, struggled a bit at times but I think a bit of that was to do with the pitch. The quality of players we could bring off the bench made a big difference.

Another tough away game on Wed with hopefully another 3 points
