Very concerning alright, as evident on Wednesday when Jozo was taken off and Brown was moved back.

Lawwell is living in hope that we scrape the league with little or no further investment when it's clearly needed. Lennon is never going to question this so will continue to tow the party line.

Did Lennon not already leave over this very situation, where has this notion of Lennon being a yes man come from, he is far from a yes man I can tell you.

Stephen Welsh put in a great performance today.

He certainly can be proud of his first competitive start for us no question and considering our lack of depth at center back right now that is promising.

Whatever Neil Lennon may be a "yes" man he most certainly is not in any way shape or form.

First off credit it where it is due there was some really superb defensive performances there from Hamilton. The amount of times they got last ditch blocks and tackles in in and around their box was quite something. Not a great performance from us but we kept going and the subs were the key especially Christie. In the end look again at how good the cross from Christie was for our second goal and the finish from Jullien was of a quality any center forward would be proud of and that is what it took for us to finally break Hamilton down so credit to them they really made us earn that 3 points.

On the other side at the risk of sounding like a broken record but here we go once again another game on a plastic pitch that was crap to watch as the players struggled all game to deal with the bounce and flight of the ball off the plastic. I absolutely hate these pitches as they destroy the game from a quality standpoint. I wish they were banned at the top level.

The club have asked sky sports to conduct an investigation into the Morelos interview they heavily promoted and broadcast yesterday (recorded on Friday before the lies about his car being hilariously exposed).

Seems to have turned out that the translation they used differed enormously from what he actually said - particularly in relation to him being subjected to racist abuse. The insinuation being that Celtic fans hurled racist abuse at him when, in fact, they didn’t.

Ironic really when you consider only the rangers have had part of their ground closed this season due to the racist and sectarian behavior of their supporters.

Can’t wait to see the outcome of whether it was The rangers or sky that provided the translation.

Interesting timing that Jim Traynor is finally getting slated by some within the Scottish mainstream media (Michael Stewart and Graham Spiers).

Michael Stewart doing our game tonight on BT. Him and Chris Sutton could be comedy gold if they get stuck into McCoist.

I’ve said it before, it’s a tragedy that sky have exclusive rights to Scottish football from next season.

    Edit:
Team: Forster; Simunovic, Jullien, Ajer; Forrest, Brown, Ntcham, McGregor, Taylor; Griffiths, Edouard

Subs: Bain, Welsh, Bolingoli, Rogic, Christie, Elyounoussi, Klimala

Great bench and the likes of Frimpong, Elhamed, Soro and Hayes all to come back in too.

Apology from Sky but no clarification on where they got the translation from

Brilliant free kick. What a player he is turning out to be.

He is ridiculously good, enjoy him while he's here, he's not going to be around for long! Another Scottish transfer record coming soon.

Great performance tonight, couple of moments where the concentration dropped but also some scintillating play. Griffiths has upped his game no end in the past month, close to his best imo. McGregor absolutely brilliant tonight also.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,322 ✭✭✭RoryMac

Only caught the 2nd half be some of the attacking play was outstanding, one touch passes, back heels. Really on a great run of form at the minute and with players coming back from injury we look well set up to keep opening the gap

What a brilliant second half performance. Eddy is far and away the best player on Scotland. Skill, pace, vision, unselfish, great dead ball and unbelievable finisher.

Sadly he’ll be in demand across Europe this summer. Absolutely agree, big money is going to change hands for this bhoy.

Happy for Griff. He’s starting to look like his old self. Terrific goal from McGregor too.

That 3rd goal was a real team goal, all started from Ntcham playing offensively when it would have been easy to just pass it back. Then some lovely play from Forrest and obviously McGregor.

Agree with Sutton, we're looking at the best player since Larsson in Edouard.

Just listening to him there. Hard to argue with it. His quality is so evident.

Good to be hitting this kind of confident form with Europa league coming back soon, this could be a great year

Most important bit of business this summer is keeping him for one more year.

Great result this evening, one game I was most concerned about.

A few performances weren't great, Ajer, Julien and Forrest with some very poor passing.

Get Eddy onto a new contract asap.

Would like to see some players rested for this weekends game, league is top priority over an overstretch trying for a quadruple trebble. We have the depth in the squad so hopefully a few more get a decent run out.

Good stuff from the club. Will be very, very interesting to see who the source of the translation is.

Can't stand the gobsh!te, but Morelos has been badly treated in all this too.

Superb performance last night on what looked on paper a tricky game away against a Motherwell side having a good season. The second half in particular was superb could easily have been 6 or more in the end. But 4-0 on the road against third place is a very good night indeed. Some superb performances all over but especially from McGregor in midfield and Edouard up front.

There definitely seems to have been a big improvement in attitude and determination since the defeat to Rangers. Standard of play has been much better and effort levels are now 100%.

Maybe the defeat to them was a blessing in disguise. I was almost starting to worry that they might pose a serious challenge in the league, but thankfully the turn of the New Year has put those worries to bed.

Yeah, obviously it's not over yet, but I feel much better than I did a few weeks ago :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,774 ✭✭✭eire4

No question there has been a notable uptick in form and I think the change in the teams shape is only part of that. The focus and attitude seems much stronger now.

    Clyde match definitely on today.

Good run out for the fringe players today. Pity Klimala didn’t stick his chance away.

Away to St. Johnstone in the next round. Not a terrible draw.

How I hate plastic pitches. I know the weather conditions yesterday were horrendous but once again as a spectacle that was hard viewing. But we have to deal with it and it was a professional performance so credit to the players for that in such dreadful conditions both pitch and weather wise.
It was good as well that we were able to give a rest to about half the team. Given the heavy game load at the moment that was important too.

Unreal night. Couldn't have gone much better since the break. Celtic on form and Rangers are having one hell of a collapse.

Absolutely, our form has been amazing since the break, not just the results but the performances. We've come through some tough away games and opened a good lead and a huge goal difference between us and Rangers.

Massive credit due to Lennon and the players

I remember Rugby Park being Celtic’s title graveyard a couple of times in the 90s. Great times

Gerrard couldn't even bring himself to say "Celtic" in his post-match interview, when mentioning the relentlessness of "others". That's always a good sign! :)

Not to get carried away. Leagues are not won in February and there's plenty of football yet to be played. But that is some wonderful karma for that classless, disingenuous tool's antics on 29th December.

Braga and Hearts in the next rounds of the cups and a 10 point gap in the league.
Are they turning on him yet?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,553 ✭✭✭✭Dempsey

Lennon has shown his experience since Gerrard's moment, and so has all the senior Celtic players. Hard to see how anyone matches celtics experience over a campaign, they are relentless at the moment

It was pathetic really that he could not even say the name Celtic. The best bit of the interview for me though was all the Kilmarnock players cheering in the background obviously watching replays of their goals. Hilarious.
