Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back a page or two to re-sync the thread and this will then show latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

My wife dropped her iPhone 6 and smashed the screen.

Can anyone recommend a good screen repair place In Dublin / Kildare?

Not necessarily the cheapest as got a screen repaired before and it was terrible, screen wasn't flush with button. Want a good quality fix.

    Thanks

If you want it done properly get it done by apple, they do screen repairs (collect&return). Cost €121.30, I don't think there's already a big supply of non-apple screens (the ones the repair shops use) so doubt they'll be much cheaper. See here https://support.apple.com/kb/index?page=servicefaq&geo=Ireland&product=iphone

I went through that site and entered all my info and the price is coming up as nearly €300....

I've never tried it myself before. Seems like you're getting the out-of-warranty repair price quoted, that's for a full repair/replacement. If you follow the link and select "warranty & service pricing" you can see the price for screen replacement only. I would just call apple to set it up.

Edit: maybe this is the cause:
----When you request screen repair online or by phone, Apple will place an authorization on your credit card to cover the iPhone out-of-warranty service cost shown below in the Out-of-Warranty Service section. This is the cost for replacing the screen and fixing any additional damage. We'll charge this amount if your iPhone is eligible for out-of-warranty service and our diagnostic test shows additional damage. If your iPhone has no damage other than the screen, we'll charge the screen repair service fee.----
As said just give apple a call.

Thanks for that. Will give them a call tomorrow.
The thoughts of getting the phone repaired by apple seems promising. Assuming its €125
