It will be interesting to see how Catchphrase and Ant & Dec do next weekend, with the new series of Ant & Dec starting on UTV Ireland. UTV Ireland should have repeated Ant & Dec from last year in the run up to the new series.

I am surprised how well Catchphrase does considering how bad it is and how bad its presenter is.

Good week for TV3, Red Rock retaining audiences. The Restaurant returned to okay audiences.

Next week their 8pm news becomes VOTE 2016.

Catchphrase is doing so well on TV3. Kind of a surprise hit - they'll be hoping that more episodes are being made soon. I think they've stopped producing any new episodes of All Star Family Fortunes for the time being - which was another show that did well on TV3 at the weekends.

The 8pm news was renamed Vote 2016 - News Special on the day the election date was set. Although there is still sport, weather and other news stories in the bulletin, so it's kind of pointless really.

The X Files on RTE2 rating isn't great. Just as well it's only a short run. I see medialive(or RTE) have broken up the rugby figures by having Buildup, Reviews, Live/Match surrounding the 3 live matches over the weekend - similar to how the Rugby world cup on TV3's figures were done.

Any figures for Bridget & Eamon ?

Started very high at 193,000, held pretty steady for week two and dropped to 98,000 last Monday. That's when it was up against Claire Byrne and the leaders' debate.

    Ratings overview for last week:

RTE1 - Claire Byrne did well with 526k viewers. Will be interesting to see if Miriam's one rates better. They completely dominate Sunday nights - Voice Of Ireland, Fair City, At Your Service, Room To Improve all over 450k which is a great achievement. However, Sat isn't as big. Would it be time to move the family movie to RTE2?

RTE2 - Don't Tell The Bride top of the charts with 164k, followed by CL football. Documentaries fill up some parts of the schedule. Bridget and Eamon have halved their viewership in 4 weeks.

TV3 - CL top with 199k, with Catchphrase in second. Red Rock's figures always up and down - hard to find a pattern between wed and thurs. Maybe the CL affects Wed nights.

UTVI: Corrie and Emmerdale the only programmes above 137k. The new series of Ant & Dec is considerably down on the figures that TV3 got a few weeks ago for the repeats of a series from 2 years ago. In fact TV3 showed the last of their repeats on Saturday night too - TV3 @ 19:45 got 90k and a new ep on UTVI @ 19:00 got 126k. No collision next week, as TV3 go back to The Cube.

    Few bits from this week:

    Miriam's Leadership Debate: 622,000 (47% share)
    Claire's Leadership Debate: 586,000 (48% share)

    TV3's Gangsters At War on Monday @ 22:00: 271,200 + 41,100 on TV3+1.

Yep possibly caused by Leaders Debate on RTE1.

Should have been done long ago, RTÉ ONE need to produce other programming for Saturday's similar to Ireland's Fittest Families. While the Movie could be part of TRTÉ on 2.

Red Rock is doing well its the programmes that surround the series. It held audiences almost consistently during Big Brother. Though you are right the drop on Wednesday (87,000) is hard to figure considering it airs before The Restaurant at 115,000, while Thursday nights Episode did better with Long Lost Family which is down at 76,000.

Pretty much RTÉ2 and TV3 rely on Sport to get them into the the top programmes and RTÉ2 just missed out I left it in at the end because it and Emmerdale are so close to RTÉ One's top 20.

The Election Coverage on TV3 had 111,000 viewers, Insight on UTV Ireland had 74,000 viewers. While RTÉ One's election coverage had 445,000 viewers from 18:45 and 279,000 viewers from 297,000 Des Bishop's Election had 95,000 viewers.

Winning Streak on RTÉ2 had 186,000, imagine they can move schedules around to suit Winning Streak but not The Good Wife!

Gangsters at War did well for TV3 with 210,000 viewers. Red Rock had 115,000 and 103,000 viewers.

    Champions League topping TV3's chart with 297,000 V RTÉ2's 154,000.

Sport and Elections, we should have more elections.

Post-Election helps TV3 with Tonight With... whomever getting over 100,000 Monday - Thursday. Red Rock retaining their audience with 119,000 and 106,000 viewers. The Restaurant Tops their 20 with 122,000 viewers. Saturday's line up continues to do well with Catchphrase, Celebrity Chase and The Cube. With All-Star Mr. and Mrs getting 72,000 viewers. I assume TV3 will lose The Cube and Celebrity Chases? All repeats?

UTV Ireland's Ant & Dec is down even from last year with just 95,000 viewers, showing that TV3's scheduling of old eps didn't really hurt UTV Ireland at all, this week it was free of any competition though it was up against Catchphrase honestly 109,000 viewers for Catchphrase!

Grantchester and Mr Selfridge got into the top 20 with 69,000 and 66,000 viewers, not sure if other ITV dramas have finished up, Big Star Little Star getting 89,000 in Midsommers slot (honestly Steven Mulhern must be the best presenter ever!)

Judge Judy still in TV3's top twenty with 86,000.

RTÉ2 did relatively well considering it had no sport. Its coverage of the 88th Oscars helped and even got an oscar short film into the top 20 The Stutter got 96,000 viewers.

Live sport with Airtricity League had 54,000 viewers. Fr Ted Saturday night double bill had 89,000 viewers RIP Fr Jack.

Ray D'Arcy Show looking very low - scraping into the Top 20. And after watching about 20 minutes of it - i can see why the figures are dropping.

i thought Ant & Dec was low last week because of the elections, but as you've said Elmo, no excuse this week. That is a bad figure - for what it only their biggest weekend show of the year. Wonder how Jeremy Kyle is doing on the channel since TV3 have stopped it.

Unsure when TV3 will lose the repeats of The Chase, Graham Norton and The Cube. the episodes of the Chase have been shown 4 times on TV3 already, and the 4th series of the Cube has been on at least 9 or 10 times.

TV3 are really getting away with some bad decisions on repeats, wonder how long it can last. Any news of the replacements when they are dropped?

UTV Ireland just missing out on the top shows, I left in Coro St for the month.

UTV Ireland should have sought a leaders debate. Insight specials being their only news show. Did TV3 Break the moritorium with a 5:30 special on Thursday Evening? Oh RTÉ2's sponsored debate had 80,000 viewers also.

TV3's 5:30 was up from Jan when it didn't feature in the monthly figures.

Prime Time pulling in 400k audiences last week - evidently people haven't tired of the post-election analysis. Other than that, 325k for Brendan O'Carroll's Family at War is the most notable RTE One rating. Sport really keeping RTE Two afloat, but Hangover Two single-handedly beats every programme on TV3! The Restaurant and Red Rock fare well for Ballymount (126k and 102k), but otherwise, a quiet week. Over at the UTV, Rare Breed demonstrates its durability (146k), edging out Ant & Dec (141k)

TBH I think RTÉ ONE, TV3 and UTV Ireland are getting away with a huge amount of bad TV.

Certainly this week allowed both TV3 and RTÉ ONE gain from the Election with Tonight and Prime Time doing well.

UTV Ireland is still struggling for programmes outside Coro St and Emmerdale and really they are just getting away with both. Interesting to see "Open Warfare: Ireland's Gangland Feud" following Coro St on UTV Ireland, similar type of show could be on TV3.

The Pulse is still happy to settle for 91,000 viewers, while TV3's Xpose and The Seven O'Clock Show which both fail to make TV3's top 20.

Sport topping both TV3 and RTÉ2, I still don't understand the idea behind selling the Euros 2016 to TV3. I don't expect either to get the kind of audiences RTÉ2 got during the 2012 games, it will split both shares, TV3 might get 10% and RTÉ2 like Feb will have 8% or so.

RTÉ ONE retains the same kind of audiences as before. Ray D'Arcy seems to be up getting sixth place, with 352000, but it seems that might be because everything else is down. The Late Late Show tops it list followed by Fair City and The Voice of Ireland. Clair Byrne Live is also up with 303,000 viewers. St. Patrick's Day help with Inside The GPO, Philomena and The Parade all getting into the top twenty.

RTÉ2 is held up by the final week of the 6 nations. 517,000 watching Ireland win over Scotland but just 247,000 tuned in for England's Grand Slam. Champions League had 175,000 and the U20 6 Nations had 138,000. The Cheltenham Festival just missed out on the top 10 with 113,000. Outside of sport it was Eamon and Bridget and Home and Away.

Red Rock is holding it audience which must be a relief for TV3, with both episodes getting 111,000 and 105,000 on Thur and Wed respectively. This must be the first sign of a high stagnate number for the show. Irish Film help TV3 also with The Commitments and Pursuit topping their top twenty. Channel 4's Big Fat Gypsy Wedding got into 3rd place with 123,000 viewers, its repeat the following day had 87,000 viewers. Champions League coverage had 120,000. Tonight with VB saw a drop following last weeks GE fallout coverage.

UTV Ireland continues to do well with both Coro and Emmers. Ant & Dec fall back to 99,000 viewers. The Pulse at 73,000 can't beat A Rare Breed with 116,000 viewers. But they are failing to gain any ground.

Surprised at the low audiences for RTE ONE considering all of the docs on the rising. TLLS remains in the top place, and is up at 536,000 viewers. Fair City and Prime Time remain poplular and I think the top 3 are all up in terms of audience.

Docs like The Enemy Files, Children of The Revolution, Inside the GPO, '16 Letters, Nationwide 1916, Prime Time ON 1916 and The State Commemoration all feature. All getting between 323,000 viewers and 279,000 viewers. TBH for event programming on RTE ONE its pretty low.

On RTE sports featured 3 times, with Fairyhouse and Allianz League Sunday and highlights of the Soccer Friendly, but they were happy with the Home and Away special and I Am Traveller. (Home and Away and Travellers, there is a pun their somewhere!). Their new Comedy Quiz show had 63,000 viewers Eureka! The Big Bang Query.

TV3 should just ensure rotating Brendan Grace, Celtic Women, The High Kings.... and The Barrystown Trilogy of films. Red Rock had 110,000 on Wednesday night but dropped to 80,000 on Thursday.

Though in fairness to TV3 they are steady, this week their top 9 are over 100,000. while same old same old on UTV Ireland, and TBH I think its going to be closed or sold at this stage.

UTV Ireland's top twenty has caught up with TV3 with both channels getting 64,000 viewers for their number 20, Xpose and Davina McCall: Life At The Extreme.

Sunday Night drama The Durrells had 74,000 viewers but the second ITV drama didn't get into the top 20.

Xpose beats the pulse on Thursday night.

I assume a lot of repeats on TV3?

First time for Neighbours with 107,000 viewers on RTE2 following Fairyhouse while Home and Away had 105,000 viewers

RTÉ ONE repeat of Centenary the following night had 420,000 viewers.
